The campsite was great, on a hill though. Bad thing about it, we made the reservation in January for two days. We show up at around 7 at night to put our tents up and find out that they have given our campsite to someone else. The other person had not set their tents up yet but had unpacked. They told the other person to leave so we did get our campsite. But if we showed up later it really would have sucked to show up in the night and exhausted from the trip, in the dark to see our campsite occupied.

We had a very pleasant time. The camp site was litter free. We were in Steam Donkey 152. We stayed 4 days and 3 nites. We will definitely go back

Camping at local bus terminal would give you same experience. VERY noisy generators running all day long (even after 10pm), small spaces and screaming kids (probably long weekend thing).
No bear boxes at the camp but signs of bear presence in the area.
Make sure to bring water. The water pump broke and camp didn’t have any water. No notification was sent out. The closest store is 15 minutes away.

Labor Day Weekend 2022
First time at the site
I tent camped with bae <3
PROS
- Very easy campsite to drive to
- LAKE IS GORGEOUS!!!!!!!
- Not too many boats on the water; we had an inflatable kayak and felt safe the whole time
- DIDN'T GET ANY BUG BITES
- Firewood available on site from host (bring cash) and fire ring at the campsite!!!
- Good tree cover
- Well maintained toilets
- Water spigot by the toilets
- Some cell reception available (AT&T)
CON
-The walk to the beach does take a good amount of physical effort
- I'd suggest wearing shoes with good soles or strapped sandals rather than flip flops, as it's a very rocky quarter mile walk
- As two able bodied folks carrying a kayak, food and drinks, we had to stop a couple times to rest on the way to the beach
- Someone using mobility aids would have significant difficulties getting to the beach if they used the most direct path from the campsite
WE HAD A WONDERFUL TIME!!! It's seriously so gorgeous and well maintained <3 We can't wait to come back and invite as many people as possible to experience the fun too :)

Everything my husband, grandma and I could have asked for! We got a double site as per site they only allow two dogs and we had four. The dogs had a absolutely blast (lots of ants though so highly suggest bringing something to keep the pups off the floor). The weather in September was perfect during the day and freezing during the night. The wildlife around us was absolutely breath taking. We saw so many birds, a chipmunk kept coming and taking snacks off our table and a deer even stopped by to smell the rack we cooked the meet on so highly suggest keeping your rack away from your tent. The bathrooms do not have sinks therefor definitely bring something to wash your hands as boy did our hands get dirty! The lake has receded a bunch but was still beautiful just a little bit further then in the photos. Every camp site kept to themselves and after 11 pm most were settling down but even the party people kept it respectful. 10/10 recommend.

Camp host was very helpful and knowledgeable. He goes the extra mile to make sure the camp sites are clean for the next campers. He diligently patrolled the areas as well. My camping experience was great!! I just wish Stampede Reservoir had higher water levels.
