Cute little campground if you like forest camping. Campground road a little tight and like many Forest Service campgrounds some of the trees need trimming so as not to damage RVs. Some road noise from Highway 89 a mile away was evident some of the time, but minor. The shoreline at nearby Prosser Creek Reservoir did not make for the most pleasant beach experience but the reservoir offers other activities.
The hosts, Bill and Sharon were amazing: friendly, on top of their chores, and they bent over backwards to give me a hand when I wasn't feeling well.
Not sure Recreation.gov will allow me to say but I wrote a much more comprehensive report on my blog RussOnTheRoad.wordpress.com.

My family and I had a WONDERFUL experience. The camp host was so friendly and went out their way to ask how things were going and if we needed anything. The campgrounds are clean! I even watched the camp host cleaning them up thoroughly after each person left. I wish the lake was closer but we took a 4x4 down the trail to the water and we made the best of it. We will definitely be coming back.

lake is at low level, as probably most of man-made California lakes in this drought era, so had no interest in hiking towards it, used campground as last stop on our way back home
water spigot had a water quality warning poster attached
vault restrooms to my surprise were having doors and seat covers forcefully open which i believe is contrary to "protocol" with foul smell reaching our campsite situated 50+ yards away... depending on wind's direction

This is a beautiful campground; easy access to the reservoir, close to Truckee which is a great small town. A little highway noise at night. We did not see raccoons on our site. The pit toilets were clean. The campers that were there were courteous. Sites were mostly shaded and flat. We brought our dirt motorcycles (grandson and I) and there were many good trails/safe trails close by. The reservoir was great for fishing (we did not fish, but looks like small boats had access)

We had campsite 25 and 27 for our last family camping trip. We loved the quietness and the trees.

Huge sites!!! Easy to get to and easy access to lake. We drove to boat ramp area which only took a few minutes. Very quiet but close enough to highway to get back into truckee if needed.

My husband, daughter, and I camped at Prosser for 2 nights. We had an awesome stay. Our camp hosts Bill and Sharon were awesome! They were so helpful, super welcoming, and awesome to chat with. There were signs when entering reminding campers to wear masks and stay 6 ft from those not in their group. The bathrooms and campground were very clean. I’m usually not a big fan of vault toilets because of the smell but here it was not a problem. The campsites were far apart enough to practice social distancing. The Prosser Reservoir is visible from most campsites and within walking distance if you don’t mind a slightly steep trail. The town of Truckee is only 10 minutes away and Donner Lake about 15 minutes. We will definitely stay here again and recommend to friends and family.
