Great scenery. Feels like you’re in a movie set. Nice trails, but beware winter is COLD and windy at night. And yes, there is staff at the gate checking you in making sure you actually show up.

There are a lot of things to do at Joshua Tree NP. Great hiking, rock scrambling/climbing,historical mines to explore, great night sky and more. I sometimes wont even leave the campground and just relax, take in the beautiful desert and reset the soul!!

Such a beautiful campsite and the surrounding scenery was spectacular. We enjoyed the dark night skies and star watching. Since campfires were limited, we enjoyed playing cards by lantern and also hiked out to find heart rock.

Very nice, scenic campground within Joshua Tree National Park.
The sites are quite varied and it is honestly difficult to choose the “right” one if you haven’t previously seen them.
There are hiking and cycling opportunities right from the campground and the drives to other hikes and attractions are not far.
The surrounding mountains, etc. are very unique.
The tenting sites looked to be great. The RV sites were a bit more limited. Some were too narrow to allow for the use of slideouts, many were quite short and others seemed to be backwards as they were on one way roads and required the steps to come out into traffic.

This campsite is near the round about so lost cars kept coming through and turning around because they missed their campsite number since the numbers goes backwards. Campground is amazing and beautiful.

Arrived while dark, and it was very difficult to read the site numbers as most were obscured by parked cars. When we finally found the site, someone else had taken the parking spot and wasn’t willing to move. In the end we had to settle for a random spot on the tarmac with no access to the site we reserved.

Camp site is nice, but it’s right next to the main road and has another site behind it. Other people kept walking through our camp site to get to their camp site. Overall the site was well maintained and easy to access. I would recommend it as long as privacy is not important.

I stayed at 2 different sites during my time at jumbo rocks and when I realized my second night was at site 1 I panicked at first after having saw how close the current campers were to the road and the site looked awful. If I had service I would have tried to find a new one but I didn’t so we checked into site 1 our second night and I actually loved it. Not sure why the other campers were at the road hanging out but it was very spacious, loved the “privacy” we got from the rocks and overall just enjoyed the site. The only complaint I have is that the closest vault toilet was one of the stinkiest I’ve encountered and I’ve been in a lot
