What Guests Are Saying
Jumbo Rocks Campground offers a clean and well-maintained environment with stunning views, quiet nights, and easy access to hiking trails and climbing opportunities. Many campsites provide a sense of privacy and seclusion, especially if chosen wisely, while facilities like clean restrooms enhance the camping experience. However, some sites are closely situated, which can lead to noise and foot traffic from neighbors, and the presence of bees may be bothersome for some visitors.

This campsite is beautiful with great access to hiking, exploring and climbing big rocks. The bathroom was close by, and we had a lot of space at our site. Unfortunately our neighbors were playing loud music late into the night (past 2am)

This site was beautiful and private. What a great way to experience Joshua Tree National park. It was the perfect place to set up our tent and relax. We really enjoyed the astronomy talk at the amphitheatre in the evening. It was beautiful star gazing with minimal light pollution. The sunset and sunrise here was beautiful. We had easy access to skull rock nature trail which was really neat as well and then we followed the trail back from skull rock right to the campground.

Stayed in spot 117 and it was awesome! It’s a tight squeeze though. Anything larger than my 2 person tent wouldn’t fit.

Absolutely beautiful park. Campsite among the jumbo rocks was amazing. Lots of hiking trails accessible from the campground and more sites to see a short trip up the road. Definitely coming back.

We loved staying here. The campground is nice, secluded feeling, and accessible. We came out to see the stars and enjoy some open space after losing a family member. Unfortunately, and this isn’t the fault of the campground, we had a group of very oblivious and disruptive people next to us that arrived at their campsite at 10 and played loud music and were shouting until we confronted them at 2am. They apologized, but it was really not fun. Maybe this means a camp host should be making rounds in the evening to ensure people are abiding by quiet hours. That level of disruption made it impossible to sleep and brought the trip down a lot. This isn’t something that happens all the time and the only thing the campground can do is encourage courtesy and etiquette, and like I said maybe establish a few quiet hours walk arounds. Joshua tree and this campground are awesome, and it seems more awareness is needed in the discussion to all who recreate about the respect for others enjoying the park.

Beautiful, unique, natural place. Very, very dark. Better find your campsite before dark. Road is narrow and winds among large rock outcroppings. All vehicles and campers, RVs, parallel park along the road. " Campsites" are only for table, fire ring and grill, and if you have a tent. No washrooms, only pit toilets. Come prepared for darkness and lack of wash facilities. Fabulous nature experience!!

Don’t get me wrong Joshua tree is beautiful and it’s hard to be mad when you get to camp inside the park, but this campsite itself was kinda strange setup, first thing is you need to park maybe 100ft from the actual site and you need to ether walk through your left or right neighbors campsite to even access yours, trees and bushes block any access to your parking spot without walking into other campsites luckily for us we had no one staying in the sites to our left and right but if those sites had been occupied this site would feel like your in the background of 2 other sites. The spot for your tent is about 10x10 max the rock and bushes are preventing any larger tent. Beautiful campground with plenty of restrooms well maintained and the whole campground is pathed so ridding around the campground is a breeze and scull rock is literally right down the street.
