What Guests Are Saying
Peltier Bridge Primitive Campground offers a beautiful setting near Clear Creek, with several sites providing easy access to hiking and swimming opportunities. Most sites are well-maintained and provide a peaceful, private camping experience, although some have issues with trash and restroom cleanliness. Overall, it's a great choice for last-minute camping trips, especially for those seeking tranquility and nature.

It’s a primitive campground with Pit toilets. Try to get campsite other than 4 and 5 since they flank toilet on either side, not that they are bad. Overall a very nice campground. There is an informal walking path that people have made to the creek that runs below the bridge. 2 nice beaches there. One can accommodate 3-4 folks and other can accommodate 2. Nice spot to see the stream run. May be get your camping chair and sit there for a while. Dog owners loved the campsite coz dogs liked it. Tons of mosquitoes and yellow jackets. Get citronella candles to prevent em getting into your food AND a form of insect repellent having DEET is must. Those mosquitoes and yellowjackets won’t respond to your “natural” repellent. Tons of dry kindling around for you to start a fire.
You have to pay online (apart from your campsite fees) to enter the Whiskeytown recreational area. Instructions on how to are at the visitor center. There is good network (AT&T and T-Mobile) at the visitor center as well as campground. You probably won’t be able to stream videos but will be able to stream music easily. Messages that use data are not a problem at all.
Happy camping.

Great campground, it would be nice if the park's department would trim the blackberry bushes on the small trails to the stream, but otherwise clean, stocked bathrooms, clean camp sites... I'm definitely going back!!!

There are 9 tent only spots at this camping ground but # 1/2/3 are closed. No water/ showers. Had 2 vault toliets w/o sinks near site 5. # 4/5 and 8/9 are side by side. 6 and 7 are a little secluded.
We camped at site 8. $20 for the night but you will also need to buy a park pass or check out a free libary park pass.Pass is 25$ for a wk or 55$ for yr pass. Our site had 2 bear boxes, 2 tables, 2 poles for lanterns and fire pit w grill. Campsites were kinda small. But we were right nxt to a creek. Might be good for fishing. Its only catch and release w barbless hooks may - Sept. There's A lot of black berry bushes blocking the creek but there are little trails to creek in front of 6 7 8. # 6 trail looked a little over grown. We stoped at the Visitor center. You can buy park pass there. We really enjoyed the lake.
