I have camped at Hodgen Meadows for many years, if not every year then every other year. This was the first time where I felt uncomfortably picked on. Host (short blonde hair lady) frequently came to only our camp sight to reiterate the rules we were already abiding by, she came by the next day to let us know that she is assuming that it was our campsite that was making loud noises at 2am, when it was not. Even our campsite neighbors had to defend our campsite on that assumption. The host also assumed we had an extra vehicle parked when we did not. The host made snarky comments asking why did we not call 911 if we heard someone being loud passed curfew, but we do not have reception, so how does that work? The host and ranger called over a higher up ranger just to tell us know at 6pm to keep our music low enough so no other campsites can hear the music, when at that moment there is a campsite a few campsites over playing their music loud enough for us to hear. Again, that ranger did not stop by that campsite to tell them anything. I love Yosemite is and I do respect the park and the rangers, but this felt very personal. Unfortunately this did dampen our camp experience while being inside Hodgen Meadow. There is a better way to be a host, we can start by not making multiple assumptions blaming a certain campsite.

Hodgdon Campground is in a great location, just inside Yosemite's Big Oak Flat (North) Entrance, making it a convenient base for exploring the park. Check-in was quick and hassle-free, and the restrooms were clean and well maintained. The campground also has a dedicated wash basin for cleaning utensils, which was very convenient.
I visited during the last week of July, and although the campground was nearly full, it remained quiet and peaceful. It's also a short drive from the beautiful Carlon Falls trail, making it an excellent choice for families and anyone looking to explore Yosemite's northern attractions.

Good campground if you want to be in the park / close to the valley but can’t get a valley spot… otherwise not very many pros. Sites are VERY close together and there was a lot of light and noise throughout the night.

Very busy campground, not very much space between camping sites, people walk right through your picknick table area. Alot of novice campers and rv campers with too much equipment that makes noise. It was 90° on the day I stayed and every campsite had a campfire. I was very smokey.
I have been to Yosemite many times over the years. This was the busiest campground I have stayed at.
The park rangers were very professional and knowledgeable about the area I was camping at, and helpful with my stay.
Thank you Yosemite

Camp host did not enforce quiet hours. Various campers were up until 2am being very loud, including sites directly next to the camp host. Some campers had floodlights at their sites which made it impossible to sleep in a tent.
