Hodgdon Meadow Campground is a clean, well-maintained facility with friendly staff and a peaceful atmosphere, making it an excellent base for exploring Yosemite. Many campers appreciated the beautiful natural surroundings and the cleanliness of the restrooms. However, some sites are sloped and close together, which might impact comfort and privacy for certain visitors. Overall, it’s a highly recommended spot for campers looking to enjoy the beauty of Yosemite.

We stayed 1 night in this campground in July. The campground was nice, although it’s about a 50 minute drive from the valley floor.
Our neighbors were very disrespectful and were up and shouting until 3 a.m. That situation ruined the camping experience for our party.
I would recommend camping in the valley floor before camping here!

Spot did not have a flat spot big enough to fit a tent. Lots of light from the restrooms.

Although the spots are a bit weird and quite small, the campground was relatively quiet. It’s a 45 min drive to the Yosemite valley. Restrooms could be cleaned more often. People don’t really follow the rules with regards to bear safety and food storage.

For those who are familiar with Hodgdon Meadow, campsites here tend to be a bit cramped. This was not the case for this site; it's a little more secluded, quiet in the nights and near a short hike to Hodgdon Meadows. It's a hike to site, so the vehicle will be far away from the actual campsite, the restrooms are also far away. The site is slightly sloped, there are no totally flat areas (which is the case for most of the campsites at Hodgdon). Most of the site is shaded, so it's on the cooler side. Be warned, it is pretty close to the group sites, which tend to be on the noisier side, nonetheless when we camped here the group sites weren't excessively loud. Overall, pretty satisfied with our camping experience here.

Great área for simple ppl that don’t demand many amenities. If you like the wilderness this is the spot to camp. Been camping at hodgdon campground 2-3 a year for the past 15 years, always a pleasure

The bathrooms were definitely lacking. Just outside the campground is the visitor center with a much superior bathroom. With two on-site camp hosts you think having a mounted soap dispenser would be very doable. How about hand driers?

Location was great. The campground entrance is off of a road just after the entrance to the park. The valley where most of the sites are is located at the bottom of the canyon, which is a bit of a drive after entering, so I was pretty happy with the location being close to the entrance. There are a few hiking trails nearby, so being outside the valley was still a nice spot. If you want to hit the major trails (half dome, etc.), then you would have to drive down into the valley.
Our neighbors were noisy and messy with young children, so being at the site location was not at all peaceful, but outside of them I enjoyed the site.

The campsite we had was on a slope which made it much more difficult to set up camp. The campsite was spacious, and they allowed people to collect the dead branches for fires. The location was further away from the valley which meant a short commute. We loved the remote location, wildlife was visible throughout we saw deer and many different types of birds. I wish this site had more support for maps.
