What Guests Are Saying
Hodgdon Meadow Campground is a clean, well-maintained facility with friendly staff and a peaceful atmosphere, making it an excellent base for exploring Yosemite. Many campers appreciated the beautiful natural surroundings and the cleanliness of the restrooms. However, some sites are sloped and close together, which might impact comfort and privacy for certain visitors. Overall, it’s a highly recommended spot for campers looking to enjoy the beauty of Yosemite.

The water situation for the campground was pretty horrifying. The only source of drinking water was leaning up and over a dirty utility sink, at just the two restrooms. So only two very awkward water sources for the entire large campground.
It was extremely challenging physically for many women, short or older people and many people ended up getting splattered with water. One small older lady dropped her water container in the dirty utility sink, which looked like a huge toilet.
In Yosemite Valley the restrooms had water fillers on the exterior of the restrooms in addition to the utility sink. This should be provided at Hodgdon meadows.
We were at the campsite next to the utility sink so we listened to people struggling to get water and lined up doing dishes at the utility sink from about 5 am until midnight. I love Yosemite but this was the worst water situation I have ever experienced camping.

Wonderful camp site for tents. Easy access and still very remote. We loved having our camp fire in the woods and enjoyed the nature surrounded camp night very much.

Parking spot is a bit slipped side to side. The fire pit if far from the parking spot but is quite big. Not private. Overall good for us in a van.
Campground was quiet.

We arrived at roughly 5pm and there was already someone parked in the parking lot closest to our allocated area. We had booked a camper van site.
The people told us is was a shared parking space and everyone could park anywhere.
There was no attendant to help us / confirm this information.
We were forced to park on an uneven parking lot and set up our table and chairs behind our van. Our allocated area was too far away. With a 2 yr old this was not fun watching her as cars drove past regularly. As the night progressed MANY more cars arrived and were confused and disgruntled that their spot was taken by others.
Maybe I missed this in the description of the camp site…. But it was not ideal and would not recommend.
