Not really any shade during the afternoon and had several people try to steal my parking spot because of its proximity to the campground entrance. Still had a nice time and was nice to be down on the valley floor rather than have to drive all the way in from elsewhere

Plan for all kinds of weather in May. Over our time in the valley we experienced thunder and lightning with light rain, strong winds and hot days, where shorts were a must, and the bugs were out in full force.

If you are going to camp in Yosemite Valley, then Lower Pines is a must. Everyone is so friendly and there is a sense of community when staying here.

Always a good time at Yosemite. Good weather, nice campsite, beautiful scenery. The process for securing a campsite...well that is another topic. The lottery system for North pines sucks and the competition for campsites is very frustrating. I had 4 nights in Yosemite and had to move each day because consecutive nights in the same campsite was not available. Look at how Grand Canyon releases their campsites, it is a much better system.
