We were lucky to get a spot in the Valley when someone cancelled and happy with #400. One thing to know about the campgrounds in Yosemite Valley is that they are packed! You're there for the convienience of being close to it all, but don't expect privacy. That said, it was great to be right there and this site had a view of Half Dome that was an unexpected treat.

Campsite 411 was a great site. You can see the river and Half Dome. However this was not one of our better trips. Our neighbor had their tent up against our bear box and had their other tent partially in our site. We had to set up our tent right next to their tent. It rained 5 days in a row. I love Yosemite and this site is great if you have nice neighbors. North Pine campground is our favorite campground.

The campground was nice and pretty chill. The shuttle bus system was handy for getting around in the Valley. We took it to several trailheads and to the Merced River beaches. 👍

I waited 6 months for the experience of camping on the Valley floor @ North Pines Campground. Unfortunately it wasn’t what I dreamed it would be. My neighbors hired a service to bring in a giant RV. They ran their generator every chance they got. The generator hours are way to generous: 7am-9am, 12pm-2pm and 5pm-7pm. Yup, breakfast, lunch & dinner! I also got to listen to their barking dog who was left in the air conditioned “condo”. I came home a day early. Yosemite is beautiful but it’s been spoiled by the crowds.

Great experience. Enjoy spending time in the River during hottest part of day. Curry Village a short distance away as well.

I've never stayed in the backpacker campground. It was a little tricky to find as this was my first time to Yosemite, but after asking 4 different park staff, we were able to find it. Once found, all went smoothly and no issues.

Camp was right along the creek. You could see half dome through the trees! Bathrooms were clean, there’s a place to fill water. This was my favorite out of all the valley campgrounds
