About Upper Pines Campground

Upper Pines campsites are available to reserve up to five months in advance on the 15th of each month at 7:00 a.m. PST. For example, on January 15, arrival dates for the period May 15 to June 14 become available to reserve, and therefore, the full arrival date window would be from January 15 to June 14.  Reservation Tips! Campsites in Yosemite are extremely popular and typically sell out in minutes. Login to your account or create a new account before the 7:00 a.m. (PST) release time. You may only add reservations to your cart and proceed with your reservation if you are logged into your account. The recreation.gov call center does NOT have access to additional sites or additional information beyond what is published on recreation.gov.  Upper Pines Campground is located in breathtaking Yosemite National Park in Central California's rugged Sierra Nevada Mountain Range at an elevation of 4,000 feet. The site is situated in the heart of Yosemite Valley, an awe-inspiring landscape containing many of the famous features for which Yosemite National Park is known. We were near the entrance and right by trash and recycling bins. The noise of people depositing trash and recycling was noticeable until surprisingly late in the evening, 10 pm. The sites further away from the entrance would have been a better choice. The park is beautiful, pick a spot, you can't go wrong.

Yosemite is amazing and the camp sites are great, although one major negative is the constant generators running throughout the day at all hours at the camp grounds.. Especially hours like 7-9? 5-7? kinda wild.
If you can't fly a drone in the park you should not be able to run a generator.
