About Upper Pines Campground

Upper Pines campsites are available to reserve up to five months in advance on the 15th of each month at 7:00 a.m. PST. For example, on January 15, arrival dates for the period May 15 to June 14 become available to reserve, and therefore, the full arrival date window would be from January 15 to June 14.  Reservation Tips! Campsites in Yosemite are extremely popular and typically sell out in minutes. Login to your account or create a new account before the 7:00 a.m. (PST) release time. You may only add reservations to your cart and proceed with your reservation if you are logged into your account. The recreation.gov call center does NOT have access to additional sites or additional information beyond what is published on recreation.gov.  Upper Pines Campground is located in breathtaking Yosemite National Park in Central California's rugged Sierra Nevada Mountain Range at an elevation of 4,000 feet. The site is situated in the heart of Yosemite Valley, an awe-inspiring landscape containing many of the famous features for which Yosemite National Park is known. I’d never leave if given the option. Thank you to Yosemite NPS for everything! And the Park Rangers who care. A campsite next to us was consistent on leaving food outside of bear boxes and they would come each night to make sure it was safe for all campers.

I understand that Yosemite is a very popular National Park with thousands of visitors every year but this campground was crammed to the brim. Every campground was squeezed next to another making the entire campground feel crowded and disconnected from nature. While Yosemite is amazing, and the location of this campground is perfect, the actual campground didn’t hold the same magic as the rest of the park.
