What Guests Are Saying
Lakeview Gunnison offers stunning views and excellent fishing opportunities, making it a popular choice for campers. Many reviews highlight the cleanliness of the campsites and restrooms, as well as the friendliness and helpfulness of the camp hosts. However, some concerns have been raised regarding the condition of the roads and water access, as well as overcrowding from dispersed camping and larger RVs, which may detract from the overall experience.

We've camped at Lakeview several times in the past. Always had a very pleasant stay. This year sucked ! We camped with two couples, all in different sites. One of the couple were in site 2. They only stayed one nite, out of three. Across the road, in site 1, there was a very large gathering of people that were camping. They had a large 5th wheel & a moderate sized motor home on the same site. They had two one ton duelies, towing large trailers that could accommodate 2-3 utv's. They also had a couple of tents on the site. Including the juveniles, there were 20-25 people on site 1 ! The evening activities were loud. There are two camphosts for Lakeview. One upper & lower. We had the lower & she was worthless ! The upper host was very receptive, but nothing was done. Next day I spoke with two Rangers & I asked them if they had any control over Lakeview. She said they did & would address the issue. The next day, activities at site 1 had dispersed. We noticed the motor home immediately moved to site 2 after our friends departed. During this, my wife & I took a walk after dinner & a woman walked up to us saying she attempted to pay the lower camphost but was told that she was "off duty" ! While talking to her, a vehicle drove up to the camphost site & she also told us that the camphost told her she was "off duty" ! I told both ladies to just return to their sites & enjoy they're stay & let the camphost find them ! Our friends, who departed later told us they would not return to Lakeview. They're the ones who turned us on to Lakeview ! We had made previous reservations for Lakeview to return. For now, we will return. We know camphosts have no enforcement abilities, but can't they call the Rangers ?

Beautiful scenery! Rent a boat at the marina, fish or just relax. Be prepared for some rain each day. Much easier to get to since Cottonwood Pass is now fully paved. You can also drive to Tin Cup and all the way up to Cumberland Pass. Beautiful scenery there too.

We had site 57 which was great, att cell service was good too. The water was a little stained but drinkable. Taylor lake is a great place to fish or do some boating.

Site 6 was OK. Very narrow space for our travel trailer but it was level. The picnic table. was too far away along with the place for our canopy. Besides the level place for our trailer the res of the area to level nd unusable for chairs or tables. Otherwise the campground and scenery was beautiful.
