The campsite itself is beautiful, just along the Colorado River. However, it is basically a boating dock zone, so expect lots of trucks and boat hauling. But more importantly, there is a nearby train that blazes its horns for a couple minutes every 2 hours or so….including during the night. We had to cut our camping weekend short because we couldn’t sleep through it. Be careful!! If you’re camping, bring ear plugs!

Nothing should be allowed at this recreation area but parking until the prairie dogs are dealt with. We were excited to camp and enjoy the river. Our site had so many prairie dog holes that there was no reasonable place to pitch a tent. The feces and and animals running around was so bad that after days preparing we left without stay a night.

The campground was poorly maintained; we never saw a campground host. No campground map to help us locate our site. When we did find the site, it was over grown with weeds (shoulder height).

Great spot for rafting. The facilities and campground are very clean, and the BLM officer was super nice and helpful! Just beware that the trains are very loud at night.

Quiet but exposed campground, only half full during our trip in early July. No water, but a number of pit toilets within an easy walk. Ground is very hard so bring a mallet for tents. This campground offers no privacy between sites and also gets pretty windy.

Great hidden little campground. Watch out for bugs (especially by the river) and the magpies (they’ll steal anything not bolted down as soon as you walk away).
