About Bogan Flats Campground

Bogan Flats Campground stretches along the Crystal River in a valley of aspen groves, towering Ponderosa Pine, spruce, and willow. The setting is ideal for larger groups seeking recreation and relaxation in White River National Forest. Sites in the campground are widely spaced and offer a nice mixture of open and shaded spots, with several sites at the river's edge. The group site is located away from the main campground, offering a more private location.

Beautiful, quiet. Just listen to the River rushing by.
Go in to Marble to see the marble mine, hike to Paradise Falls (2 mi. R/trip easy), then enjoy most delicious BBQ at the big restaurant in town.

Overall my experience was good, but warning to others about the parking there.
It was brought to our attention that parking only includes one vehicle and not two as the reservation suggests. We had to pay for additional parking per night as a result. We found this odd considering that my site and my friends adjacent site (that was for a larger group; 8+) both had the same stipulation. Not sure about many folk but I can’t accommodate 8+ people in one single vehicle even though the site had more than enough parking for multiple vehicles. Outside of this annoyance, the restrooms were clean and tidy. The campsite managers were also friendly.

Site 13 is not entirely level unless you can park sideways. Minor inconvenience for large site on Crystal river. Be sure to mark your territory as the neighboring site limits are blurred.

The camp hosts are often and on top of it. I always saw them cleaning and even trying to dig drainage to dry things out after the rain. They were very accommodating when we wanted to switch sites as well. Try to get a site in the 20s down by the river. No cell service in the campground or surrounding areas.

I loved this campground. Save for the lovely sound of the crystal river it was quiet and peaceful. Hosts were very nice and friendly. Bathrooms were exceptionally clean. I would’ve given 5 starts but my site had run off from snow melt which made half the site unusable. But my site was very very large (#15) so still plenty of room (just couldn’t really use the picnic table). The hosts did a great job trying to direct the run offs so I was happy I could still use my site. Some sites were not useable from all the water. Overall, I’d totally stay here again but probably not so early in the season.
