About Bogan Flats Campground

Bogan Flats Campground stretches along the Crystal River in a valley of aspen groves, towering Ponderosa Pine, spruce, and willow. The setting is ideal for larger groups seeking recreation and relaxation in White River National Forest. Sites in the campground are widely spaced and offer a nice mixture of open and shaded spots, with several sites at the river's edge. The group site is located away from the main campground, offering a more private location.

Randy is a great host. Our spot 002 didn't have easy access to the river but there is a small trail towards the right side if staring at it from the driveway that could lead you to the river. We didn't walk it because of kids and dog (avoided the headache). Campground is beautiful and the surrounding terrain as well. Would definitely go back, it's worth the 4hr drive. But would stay longer because of the 4hr drive. If your looking at Bogan Flats, do it! And if they are available sites 012 (best), 014, 015 are great. Bring lights, it's dark at night. Like you're in a room no windows and they turn off the lights dark. Love it. Kinda freaky but that's the experience.

great campground that i have been staying at for 50 years now. Beautiful as ever. Only NF campground on the Crystal river. Marble area is quiet and the surrounding mountains are as good as it gets in CO. Jeep trails to Lead King and the town of Crystal are a must for anyone with off road capabilities.
