Overall, one can not find a prettier area in Colorado. Lots of mining history in the Crystal River Valley and access to trails into the Marroon Peaks to the east and Scolfield pass to the southwest. Hike or take an ATV/Jeep to the town of Crystal from the town of Marble. Unforgettable !!
Re: the campground, mostly spacious sites with at least 50% shade and flat access to the driveways. However we had a very steep approach making out site not suitable for our pop-up trailer. #16

Great campground along the Crystal river. Some noise from the road but not too much. Still feels secluded enough to relax and enjoy. Surroundings are beautiful. Marble is just up the road.

You couldn't ask for a more beautiful setting. Most of the campsites are close enough to the Crystal River to hear it all day and night. I would caution that the drinking water is terrible. It tastes like Sulphur. I was hoping for some clean mountain water. Perhaps due to the geology of the area that cannot be prevented.
I got the steepest and narrowest driveway up to camp ten. Once I got my little trailer up there it was fine. I think that site needs work. I won't complain though because the setting outshines any issues I had personally.

Location was great as a cyclist. I did a ride to Marble from the campground that was very nice. Next day, I did a ride up McClure Pass and that was tough but very nice as well. My campsite was right next to the river and it was delightful.

Very nice, clean campground. Some very tight areas throughout the campground so know the length of your equipment and be aware.

Great site but no recognized hiking trails directly from the campground, so it is necessary for get in the car once more to drive to local trailheads.

This campground is situated in a beautiful part of Colorado just south of Carbondale (20-miles-ish). Campground clean but fairly busy. We were in space #14 which is described as having a 40’ driveway. This is accurate, but negotiating any camper over 28’ will be a challenge as the angle of the driveway is awkward for backing larger RV’s. A big downside for us was the fact that several premium spaces were reserved for multiple days and never occupied. I was led to believe these were to be vacated if it was vacant after the first 24hrs. Not the case here according to the campground host.
