I love this Campground - it is special to camp next to the Crystal with well layed out sites. CG Managers work very hard to stay in contact with campers and the bathrooms are meticulous. Sometimes reservation availability for sites is confusing on your site.

The campground location is the area between the road to the town of Marble and the Crystal River. The facilities are well maintained and clean and the campground hosts were friendly. The sites near the river are shaded, cooler, and enjoy the sound of the river which is very close by. We had a site that was closer to the road and in full sun on a hot August day. The road noise, while not terribly loud, was a constant presence that certainly drowned out the sound of the river.
The campground was "full" but when the website showed that there was a last minute cancellation we grabbed it and felt lucky to get a site. The sad and discouraging thing is that many campsites , perhaps 25%, were empty. They had been reserved but nobody ever came to use the site. Some of the sites reserved by no-shows were for ten days or more. It probably goes without saying that the best sites, the shady ones on the river, were the ones most often empty.
I believe that any campers who reserved a campsite and don't show up nor contact the reservation agency should lose their site and their deposit after one day's absence. The site should then revert to first come first served status. The current system is a travesty.

Great location with many of the sites right on the river bank. Several restrooms that were very clean and the hosts were friendly and helpful. Beautiful scenery. Nice fire pit with grill. Can't wait to come back.

Beautiful spot and facilities great.
Downside a camper after some dispute left a very inexpensive but super loud generator on all the time even when not using it—whole family outside playing or whole family walking around campground obviously intentionally disturbing the peace of every other camper on our loop.
Sadly when leaving I questioned the hosts about their doing ZERO nada nothing to stop this racket. They said their hands were tied and could do nothing. I think which ever concessionaire has this campground needs to come up with a policy that addresses this to satisfy everyone such as: noise restrictions for over certain decibel limits that are clearly stated in reservation agreement which would eliminate excessively loud stand alone generators. Built in generators in our Class A RV have two large mufflers and have never been a problem when asking neighbor campers if it’s too loud. The trailer RV s seem to not have built in generators and most use very quiet Honda or other mfgerer made for quietness and respecting other campers.
The hosts apparently never asked these campers to consider others and limit their generator use.
I suggested they call the sheriff fir disturbing the peace and they said they couldn’t do that.
After RV camping for 20 yrs a noise limit seems reasonable or insisting all generators are internal to the RV cutting noise down dramatically .
Thank you

We've been staying at this campground every summer for nearly a decade and always have a great time; unfortunately (probably due to COVID) it was VERY crowded and noisy this year. Many sites had multiple vehicles and extra people, and several groups had dogs who were clearly not camping-experienced - barking, fighting, running into adjacent sites despite the leash rule, etc. Not a particularly peaceful camping trip, but the scenery is always beautiful.
