About Bogan Flats Campground

Bogan Flats Campground stretches along the Crystal River in a valley of aspen groves, towering Ponderosa Pine, spruce, and willow. The setting is ideal for larger groups seeking recreation and relaxation in White River National Forest. Sites in the campground are widely spaced and offer a nice mixture of open and shaded spots, with several sites at the river's edge. The group site is located away from the main campground, offering a more private location.

The site barely fit our 25’ motorhome. Our picnic table was up the hill from our site & my wife couldn’t walk up the path to set at the table.

We had some concerns about the strong sulfur smell and taste in the water.

We love Bogan Flats and have been coming here for years. Great spots by the river, and easy access to the fun outdoor activities nearby. Campground hosts are always great too. The vault toilets are always clean however this year they smelled much worse then normal. My guess it this is due to leaving the doors open during Covid and the stuff was not able to break down properly with the venting system. The charcoal taste of the water has gotten better but is still distinct. Over all one of my favorite places and will continue to go back year after year.

The entire campground was in phenomenal shape. The bathrooms were sparkling clean & somehow even smelled nice! The campground was tidy & neat, not a piece of trash to be found. The river running beside the campground was flawless as well. No trash & everything was fabulously kept. We can't wait to go back to visit!

We only spent one night, but the scenery was magnificent. Hosts were friendly and helpful. We even ran into them in Marble later that week and they remembered us. Love the cool nights and the beautiful Crystal River.

I love this campground - stayed July 2021. One of the pit toilets had to be closed because it was overfull. Really!!! this is ridiculous during peak season that pumping maintenance was not done. We the users pay for this service so we should get service right!!
