Bogan Flats Campground

I love this campground - stayed July 2021. One of the pit toilets had to be closed because it was overfull. Really!!! this is ridiculous during peak season that pumping maintenance was not done. We the users pay for this service so we should get service right!!

The bathrooms smelled awful for the two weeks we were there. It was hard to sit outside b/c of the smell

I was very surprised at how pretty and serene the campground was. We we there for 10 days, and it wasn't until the last 2 days we had issues with people letting their dogs run off leash. A couple of them charged us when we were walking our dogs who were on leashes. Otherwise it was a lovely experience and we will be going back next year.

We have been camping at Bogan Flats for more than 15 years and love it.

Site #16 was perfect for the roof top tent. Easy to Level, plenty of room, and private. The river was near perfection and accessible directly from our site. Water level was average for the summer and there was space for the kids to play. Fire bans were in effect so we were unable to enjoy the fire ring, but it was there. We had a little weather but the site has plenty of natural shelter to keep everyone happy. Hammock friendly for certain! Ok... so one minor drawback... an occasional whiff. If you know, you know, but it was seriously occasional and didn't put a damper on anyone's visit. I hear the neighboring sites are also nice.

been camping here for 50 years and love the crystal river valley. Great jeep trails above Marble. Campground host was outstanding.

Awesome campground right next to the Crystal River. I have been here several times and never had an issue with the toilet smell but this time 7/6 it was awful and enveloped the entire campground. Perhaps just there at the wrong time... so I would try to stay away from the toilets until fixed (surprisingly they don't smell that bad inside, only outside).

Keep in mind there is zero cell service at this campground and your best bet is to drive close to Carbondale.

If the campground fill sign is out it is worth at least driving around. A couple of sites opened at the last minute but the Full sign was still out.

The toilets smelled SO bad. We were the furthest away (campsite 3) and we still got wiff of them. If we had of been downwind or closer, we would had to leave because it was so bad. Everything else was great!

One of our favorite campgrounds. We showed up around 5:30 and found someone in our reserved spot. They were not there, so we could not ask them to leave. Thankfully the campground hosts went above and beyond to accommodate us. They even called people with reservations to find out if they were still coming. They were able to find us a spot for the night, and made sure that the poachers moved on. Great campground hosts!
