About Redstone

Redstone Campground is set amidst a scattering of aspen groves on a ridge above the Crystal River at 7.8 ft, creating an ideal setting for guests seeking recreation and relaxation in White River National Forest. Sites in the campground are widely spaced and offer wonderful views of red rock outcroppings and cliffs, though an understory of tall grass and a scattered forest provides plenty of privacy.

This is really just a crushed gravel driveway with no tree cover at all and no place to put a tent. It really can't be called a campsite.

There were some Hispanics playing loud music late in the night down by the river. The camp host wasn't going to do anything about it. My friend had to go down and tell them to turn it down.

I was in site 9. What a pleasant surprise that it had 30 amp power and it also had water (recreation.gov website lists the power sites as 15 amp)! Make sure to use a pressure reducer - that water has some force. The bathrooms were cleaned multiple times each day. I normally would have made the longer stroll to the flush toilets, but I used the pit toilet almost exclusively. I've never been in a pit toilet that has no smell before, but this one was spotless and odorless! Obviously, the hosts are hard-working and take great pride in the campground. They're also really friendly, and super helpful (giving directions, making suggestions, notifying you of local events, etc.). Wow! Fabulous, fun.experience! I'll be back!
