What Guests Are Saying
Thunder Ridge Campground offers a beautiful and clean camping experience, with friendly hosts who ensure the facilities are well-maintained, including spotless bathrooms. The campground is conveniently located near Woodland Park and features stunning views, easy access to a reservoir for activities like hiking and fishing, and a peaceful atmosphere. Some challenges include uneven tent pads and a bumpy access road, but many campers express a desire to return for the overall positive experience.

Beautiful large spaces. No bugs! Clean toilet. Great access to hiking, lake. The paved road minimizes the dust which was great!

Having group camping next to the non-group camping posed an inconvenience during the day. Loud noises and people walking through my campsite were unexpected disruptions. I haven't experienced this in any campgrounds that were specifically non-group.
On the good side of things, the guests did respect the quiet hours. But, at seven AM, they were loudly waking their group.
Cleanest bathrooms of ANY campgrounds I have been. Wonderful view of the cliff face. Easy to drive roads with good signage.

They wouldn’t allow us to drive our hightop van across the dam. I don’t know the reasoning but pretty lame. No RVs, trucks with bed campers, uhauls etc…

Fantasic campground, from the layout which ensures site-to-site privacy, to proximity to the reservoir and bike/hiking trails, this is a great place to experience the outdoors. Easy access to fresh water, and nice flat pads for tents. A little cramped for a pop-up camper but still everything you want to experience in the great outdoors.

Bathrooms were super clean and the hosts were friendly. They did run their generator one afternoon and into the evening, but fortunately it was off by 9:30 pm or so. Great views and I love the hiking trail to the lake.

The location was nice, but it is more for campers and tents, in my opinion. There was no where I could dump my waste until I got down to the nearest town, and that is a good drive. Also, the porta-potties, or toilets that are located there stunk terribly, and this was in chilly May. I would recommend it though.

Extremely windy, if you’re not in a camper be prepared for the wind. Beautiful area, road to get there was a bit rough but 10/10 on scenery. Our spot was a little tight, I believe we had 012. Not a lot of room for the dog as the side of our campsite is a straight down steep hill.

Stunningly beautiful.
Others wrote how bumpy the road is. Not really a problem. If you come in from the south and the Garden of the Gods it is a beautiful 17 mile ride on unpaved forest service roads so yes it's a little bumpy. If you come in from the north only a couple of miles on forest service roads.
What would have made me change to 5 stars? While the sites are fairly well spread out, not quite enough. Get a lot of neighbor noise.
