Beautiful. Great fishing. Plan on rain in the afternoon (It's Colorado). There are some FF (first Come, First Served) walk-up type sites, but I would recommend making reservations. The lake is large enough for boats.

This is a fantastic campground. Well graveled roads which helps to keep the dust down. The camp sites are level and well spaced apart. Awesome views and great fishing for young and old alike. It has a nice hiking trail around the lake. The rest rooms were the cleanest we had ever used thanks to the camp hosts. They were also very friendly and on top of any needs you had. One of our sons and his family were with us and their site next to ours was very nice as well and had a trail to ours. My wife and I were awestruck with how quiet it was there. We have decided that we definitely want to go back next summer.

This is a nice campground. The vault toilets are in fact the most pleasant I have ever used, and I have used more than a few.... This area of Colorado is losing what seems like most of the evergreens to the bark beetle and the campground is no exception. So there are a lot of stumps. It does take away some from the beauty. There were a plethora of beautiful wildflowers walking around the lake - several I have never seen before.... I enjoyed my time here...

Very well maintained campground and literally the best kept pit toilets I've seen in my life. Not a lot of fish in this lake but there's other lakes nearby where the fish were biting.

Very peaceful and gorgeous campground! Road from highway to campground is really rough and needs some work.

Our Hosts, Bill and Rhonda, were great and really made our experience wonderful. The bathrooms were the best pit bathrooms I've ever seen. They were clean and decorated with posters of wild flowers. I would definitely go back to Big Meadows.

Much different from last year (COVID); in a very good way. Fellow campers were much more respectful of quiet hours and cleanliness. The new host(s) from Oklahoma were absolutely lovely and extremely vigilant with care of the campground in all facets and just a very cordial couple. Our campsite #1 was clean and tidy when we arrived and no other camper was still there; which was a big problem last year. I think that last year there were a lot of out of state first time campers who were negligent of campsite rules and regulations and just plain did not care. Some left baby strollers in the lake and my friends tackle box, fishing poles and buck knife were stolen from the shoreline. Simply heartbreaking for it is such a lovely campground and location.
