The campground hosts at Island Lake are top-notch! They were very organized, friendly and helped us settle in immediately. Further, they kept the outhouses so clean we didn't even feel like we were camping. Of course, one can hardly write a review about Island Lake Campground without mentioning the amazing views and access to both trails and lakes. A wonderful experience overall that I can strongly recommend to any camper!

Island Lake is beautiful as are the other lakes near by! Very clear, clean water. The Island Lake Campground is wonderful, cleanest pit toilets we've ever encountered. The only negative part to our visit was the mosquitoes! Think we will invest in a screen tent before our return next year for it was nearly impossible to sit outside especially in the evening time.

Once again I enjoyed my stay at Island Lake CG. I have been camping here every year for years now. The hosts did a great job of keeping the toilets clean and the general area looked very good. Fishing was also very good at the lake. Mosquitoes were their usual pesky selves! My favorite CG on Grand Mesa.

From Cedaredge, Colorado, take State Route 65 north for 15.7 miles to campground sign (Forest Route 116). Turn left at sign onto Route 116 (gravel) and go 1.4 miles to campground sign. Turn left at sign into campground.
Island Lake Campground is accessible via State Route 65, which connects to larger road networks in the area. No interstates or major highways are within 25 miles.

Policies & Rules
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
