What Guests Are Saying

Island Lake Campground offers a beautiful, well-maintained setting with clean restrooms and friendly camp hosts who provide excellent service. The campground features spacious and private sites, ideal for fishing and hiking, with stunning lake views. However, access is currently limited due to construction, with a challenging one-lane road that may pose difficulties for larger vehicles.

Wonderful Camp Hosts! So friendly and helpful. Even gave us biscuits for all of our dogs! :)
LOVED our group site, (18-20) lots of trees and lush woods behind us. Right next to the bathrooms which were very clean and well taken care of. Plenty of space and beautiful views. A short walk to the trail that goes along the lake. Will definitely be reserving this spot again in the future.

Great campground; well run. Proximity to scores of well-stocked lakes, some accessible only on foot or ATV. Much shade and scenic views. Grand Mesa visitor center is nearby with helpful people and free wifi.

The campground host and hostess were wonderful! The sites were quite spacious with large picnic area. The vault toilets were very clean with an air freshener inside and soap outside by the water spigot, first time this has been available at a State Park I have visited. Very appreciative.

Beautiful place, cleanest outhouses you will find anywhere! Super nice, dog friendly camp hosts. The surrounding area is just gorgeous. Some of the sites are nice and flat for RV'S but a few are not, so pay close attention when making reservations. Will definitely return to this campground!

Cancellation policy

  • Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
  • Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
  • Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
    • Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
  • Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
  • Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
  • Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
