What a beautiful campground! Campsites are close together but it makes it a nice community feel. There are amazing views in all directions and the staff was really nice and helpful. Can't wait to do it again.

Camp safely surrounded by beautiful views and wildflowers at your site. Plus, stay connected with dependable phone data coverage.

Thin pines shade this spot a little. Tricky to pull into, found it easiest to back in due to the sharp curve. You're really in the middle of things here and close to other sites - and bathrooms, for better or worse! The hand dryers in the bathroom are the "vortex" kind and are super loud when used at night. We used a white noise machine to ensure we got some sleep. No significant wildlife during our visit, just a few chipmunks/ground squirrels. The tent pad was well-sloped, you definitely need to bring a mallet to hammer in your stakes since some of the ground was too compacted/rocky.

Clean bathrooms. Bring your own sun shower bag and there is a location in Loop D where you can hang your bag and shower in privacy. Look at the camp site photos and descriptions for shade and number of vehicles allowed. Our site A26 had a large tree that provided some shade for sitting and could accommodate 2 vehicles. Use the shuttle to get to the popular bear lake hikes. Shuttle is walking distance from this campground.

Campsites are quite crowded together.
There was no shortcut to the bathroom from our campsite without cutting through someone else's space or walking all the way around the loop.
Great to have a generator-free loop to camp in.
It gets HOT so a shaded campsite is preferable

The Rangers, seasonal Rangers, and volunteers, make this a wonderful place to camp! Its location is very handy because you can walk 10 minutes and be at the park-and-ride. The facilities are kept clean and orderly, the camp hosts are wonderful people, I really enjoyed my stay here. The only regret is that due to staffing shortage, there were no Ranger talks in the evenings. I missed that.

well managed, nearby short hikes are great for the evening and early morning. Rangers were available most of the time and were able to answer our questions.

Everyone was kind. I was at spot D57. This spot was not good especially for car camping. The picnic table and fire pit are very far away from the parking spot. The parking spot is very small and you have to park parallel to the road where all the other cars are driving by. I would not recommend for car camping. If you are tent camping and don’t mind having to carry your stuff a bit far from your car it would be fine. It’s nice that it gets you into the Bear Lake corridor

Nice site in tall pines with long pull through driveway. It’s sort of odd how the campsite next to this one has its firepit right next to your driveway though. This is a slightly congested area of the campground with a bit of discomfort with the proximity of other campers close together, in an open space especially when everyone has a fire going. Other than that the campground itself is great with amazing volunteer rangers. The proximity to the shuttle station is a big plus!
