So excited Moraine Park campground has been reopened after such a long reno! While the improvements aren’t always noticeable since much of it was replacing old sewer lines, the retiled bathrooms, new curbs, and new ADA parking pads are great! Seems like there are few tweaks that are needed (such as the water pumps constantly leaking all day) but staying in Moraine Park is always fantastic. Can’t ask for a campground view better than the Moraine valley and Longs Peak.

Stayed at site B171 and it was lovely! Large level tent pad, picnic table, fire ring with grill, and bear box. Relatively close to neighboring sites but not nearly as close as some others and there were some trees and a hill on the backside for a nice windbreak. There is a bit of a washed out probably human made trail between two sites and some larger boulders around the fire ring which makes it harder for a group to sit around at night since it’s also not level but two of us made it work fine!
Restrooms were nearby and well kept, never had to wait, and there is potable water and firewood for sale at the campground. Dead silent at night and nice for stargazing. Crowded campground so people will start waking early and making noise and again there’s no white noise to block out the sound so just be prepared to wake early and enjoy the beauty of the park!

A quick escape from the city. Moraine Park is highly sought after and reservations get booked up fast! However if you are able to take off mid-week that opens up possibilities. Sites are well maintained. However due to the trial period after renovations, the camp showers were locked and unavailable. Evening brought sunset colors and deer roaming through the campground. The south sites have an expansive view of the Moraine valley, and the mountains including Longs Peak. B-Loop is more close together, but the rest of the loops have good separation between sites. Driveways and pads are level, and some have good shade. Your reservation gets you into Bear Lake corridor, so take advantage of early morning parking and hike to Nymph Lake, Dream Lake etc.

Timed Entry Reservations: For visitors who are camping at Moraine Park Campground, your Timed Entry + Bear Lake Road Reservation is included with your camping reservation.Campers will be able to enter the park beginning at 1 p.m. on the first day of their camping reservation, which is also the check-in time for all RMNP campgrounds. Campers who plan to enter the park earlier in the day will have to enter the park outside of the times when timed entry is in effect (for example, before 9 a.m. for most areas of the park) or make a timed entry reservation. |

Entrance Fee. A park entrance fee is required to enter Rocky Mountain National Park, or show your annual or lifetime park pass. You may pay the entrance fee upon arrival.Pass Discounts on Camping. Check-in is after 1 p.m.Check-Out Time: All campers must check out and vacate their campsites by 12 p.m. on their departure day.Hookups - A number of campsites have 20/30/50 amp electric hookups available. Moraine Park Campground does not have any sites with water or sewer hookups.Dump Station - An RV Dump Station is available near the ranger station. Solar Shower Stalls are available - This is a solar shower only. Users must provide their own shower bag for water. Water is not provided in the shower stalls. Laundry services are not available. |

Site Limits. Each site is limited to eight (8) persons and one camping unit (i.e., a tent, RV, or trailer/tow vehicle) plus one additional tent per site. All tents shall be located on the tent pad. All additional camp structures must be self standing without impacts to vegetation or trees. There is at least one parking space per site. Some sites may accommodate more than one vehicle. A vehicle is defined as one car/truck, one trailer, one RV, or one towed unit. Each vehicle must be parked on the gravel or paved parking pad causing no resource degradation or encroachment onto the main road. Extra vehicles must park in overflow areas.Maximum length of stay. The maximum length of stay during peak season is 7 nights. Please check the rules and regulations before making your reservation. |

Firewood. Firewood is available for purchase at Moraine Park Campground, and all other campgrounds in Rocky Mountain National Park.Don't Move Firewood: Help protect our forests! Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. Moving firewood is illegal in some states. Visit dontmovefirewood.org to learn more.STOP THE SPREAD OF INVASIVE SPECIES. Remove plants, seeds, animals, and mud from boots, gear, pets, and vehicles. Clean your gear before entering and leaving the recreation site. Stay on designated roads and trails and follow local guidelines for firewood. CLEAN, DRAIN, DRY boats and any other recreational equipment that contacts water. Dispose of unwanted bait, worms, fish parts, or other organisms into the trash and not into the environment. Stay Out of Hydroseeded Areas!Moraine Park Campground has recently been re-seeded after construction! This process, called hydroseeding, applies a combination of local native seed, mulch fiber, and water to disturbed areas, and looks similar to fine straw. Over the next couple of years, this seed will germinate and help restore the local native plant communities we know and love. Please protect these fragile areas by using designated paths and keeping kids and pets out of hydroseeded areas. |

Be Bear Aware when camping. Store all food and scented (soaps/lotions/toothpaste/lip balm – anything with a scent) items inside Food Storage Boxes provided at each campsite. RMNP has a zero tolerance policy for food storage violations. Do your part to help protect wildlife. |
