What Guests Are Saying
Moraine Park Campground in Rocky Mountain National Park offers a beautiful and peaceful camping experience, with stunning views of snow-capped mountains and abundant wildlife like deer and elk. Campers appreciate the clean facilities, friendly staff, and convenient access to hiking trails. While some improvements could be made, such as better bathroom signage and more electrical sites, many visitors express a strong desire to return due to the campground's overall charm and serene ambiance.

The sign at the start of the road said that the campground was full and it was no where near full. The campground and site were fantastic and clean with amazing views of Longs Peak. The ranger stationed at the entrance to the campground was entirely unhelpful when we asked about changing sites since there were many open ones. He really was the most unpleasant part of our whole visit to the park

Beautiful view of Long's Peak and very quiet. The only drawback is the distance to the restrooms. I will definitely book this site again!

The campsite is close to the sites on either side and a decent walk from the bathroom, but nicely shaded and near the entrance for easy access.

We had a great trip! We camped at Moraine Park Campground in A001. We noticed the site was cooler than others around us. This was nice because it was hot, but I could see how this would not be ideal in the colder months.

While I tent camped for 4 days. I had 2 friends each with vans. They chose non-electric sites so we could all be next to each other. The new iteration of the beautiful Moriane campground is very user friendly . Love the new restrooms and the dish washing sink - such luxury! This campground is so convenient to much of the park. Appreciated all the staff! Sully was especially helpful, having so much knowledge on places to see along with understanding of the park’s ecosystems. Thanks

No Electricity and a Short Hike: Know that this site, like many others in Moraine, requires a hike up a hill from your parking spot, for this site, C 202, I'd estimate about 30 yards (maybe? could be more) which was fine for us bc then you're on top of the hill away from the road. The C loop is also the only electric loop so you're with the campers, so being on the hill helps with the noise. AND the pictures show an electrical outlet - that is NOT the case at this particular site, so be warned. All the other surrounding sites have boxes but not this one, which was fine for us, my kids charged their phones at area unoccupied sites. The views are gorgeous. You're a short walk (5 minutes) from the Moraine campground ampitheater, which was handy for attending a program. The site was clean, the tent pad was nice and even. Bear box clean. No showers. They are still working on the campground but for the location and views, honestly, can you camp somewhere more incredible?
Just know about the hike up the hill and that there is NO ELECTRICITY, as shown in the picture. Enjoy the beauty!

Stay Out of Hydroseeded Areas!Moraine Park Campground has recently been re-seeded after construction! This process, called hydroseeding, applies a combination of local native seed, mulch fiber, and water to disturbed areas, and looks similar to fine straw. Over the next couple of years, this seed will germinate and help restore the local native plant communities we know and love. Please protect these fragile areas by using designated paths and keeping kids and pets out of hydroseeded areas. |
