Good spot to kick off mountain biking. Restrooms are far enough away, and were always clean.

It was warm at this time of the year and there were biting little fleas.

Amazing mountain biking. Campsites are very exposed to sun so bring lots of water and shade. Don’t miss hot tomato pizza in fruita.

Great trails and campgrounds for mountain biking. Fruita has done a fantastic job of turning nothing into a very good something. If you're not a mountain biker, go somewhere else (Highline, CO Ntl Monument come to mind) because the bookcliffs aren't particularly pretty, hiker friendly, and the camping is largely without shade.

Busy holiday weekend, the campground was nice in general. We were in loop D and it was nice and secluded. Our only gripe was the restrooms all ran out of TP on Saturday morning and were not restocked before we left on midday Monday. Wouldn’t be an issue had the price been less, but for $28 a night I expect more.

The upper campground is better in my opinion, the sites are more spread out and trees provide some shade. Plus you’re on top of the plateau a bit so you can see more views. The lower campground is nice, clean, well groomed, but feels crowded with the sites lined up side by side with no trees or separation other than rope fence. Would still stay in the lower campground if upper was all booked. Thank you GJ Rec for building this awesome and affordable campground!

Love this place! Stayed here three nights and rode mountain bikes. The trails are great, the bathrooms are adequate, just bring your own TP. Hopefully, we’ll be back for another adventure.

Great campground. The site along the road may take some leveling but nothing too dramatic.
