The campground is adequate. If you have never camped in Colorado they leave things “natural” meaning they don’t mow or upkeep campgrounds. They did have food boxes for bear, but they are shared between multiple campsites so not as effective as locations that have one per site. The bathrooms are flush toilet and have running but not hot water. No lights in bathroom. No showers. Pretty place but sites are fairly close together. Not a bad experience at all, but just be prepared if you come from other states where campgrounds are kept mowed and the bathhouses have lights, hot water, showers, etc. They do have firewood for sale in evenings if there isn’t a fire ban. The sites have fire rings and concrete picnic tables.

Little evidence of the fire from a few years ago.... facilities were fine including the dish wash area and a Moose trotted thru our campsite as we were cooking dinner.

Nice campground and staff. We had Loop C site 61 and it was definitely tight for our 24 foot travel trailer. Plus, the way the pull-through site was situated, our camper door was roadside and we had to walk around to get to the table and fire pit. I would not stay in this site again. I enjoyed the ranger program, and the campground was kept very clean, which I appreciated. I knew RMNP rules about pets, which I respected. Still, it would have been really nice to take our leashed dogs down to the creek on a hot day-but this was not allowed. I appreciated that this campground was on the "quiet" end of RMNP.

Such a great and beautiful place to camp! Amazing skies and stars everyday! Also elk are all over the camp and you can hear coyotes all night!

Beautiful view, elk and moose wandered in and out of the campsite at twilight, and it felt private. Clean bathrooms and ample water stations. Hammocks cannot be hung from trees in the area. Not a lot of shade.

Overall the campground and location was nice. The reserved entry system for this campground was confusing, where timber Creek campground is the one campground without the bear lake access.
