My family and I love this campground for so many reasons. It’s absolutely beautiful, plenty of activities available like fishing, swimming, kayaking, hiking etc, dog friendly and have nightly ranger talks. It is very quiet but close to Gunnison if you need any supplies. The facilities are very clean and each camping pad is well maintain with a paved area, nice picnic table, fire pit and an area (small to large) for a tent! We brought a 6-person tent, and our camping trailer and were very comfortable in slot A-12. My only complaint about the campground and surrounding campgrounds is there are no shower’s available except for in the town of Gunnison at the recreation center. It would be nice to have onsite showers for families who want to stay longer.

Campsite was pretty big and could easily hold a 14 foot tent without feeling too crowded. Had great view of the lake. No shade in the area so it would’ve been great to have taken umbrellas or a canopy.

Clean campsite, central location to drive to various areas for shore fishing although not even a nibble. Boating ramp still closed which was disappointing considering how high the water was and all the great media attention Blue Mesa Reservoir is receiving.
