Nice campground with some electric sites for trailers. Nice views all around, somewhat exposed and can be windy. Hosts were kind and helpful. The reservation process, like all Recreation.gov managed campgrounds is quite inefficient. During our stay many sites went unoccupied for several days, yet the reservation website showed no availability for the entirety of the electric sites. It is quite frustrating as we were required to move only to see that the site we left was never occupied. Serious flaw in the process.

The campground and facilities were very well maintained. The hosts were friendly and helpful. Blue Mesa Reservoir itself is tragically low and will soon or is closed to all but hand-launched watercraft.

No showers, NO WATER, and no shade, so with high winds you can’t put out your awning. The lake is beautiful but if you are older walking to the water is very rocky. But if you have a boat they have a nice ramp. The Black Canyon national park is not far away. When you get there the shed that you come in to is not manned & they have a sign that says just go to your site or look for your host. They have visitor center nearby the park entrance. We thought they had a marina restaurant but its been closed since Covid. The drive to the park was beautiful. It was not hard to find.

We loved it here. Initially booked 3 nights and ended up booking another 3 nights. Spacious sites and the views over the Blue Mesa Resevoir were beautiful. Bathrooms were clean.

Clean, affordable campground. Is the only National Park campground with flush toilets. No showers or camp store available. Cost is very affordable. Enjoyed the view and ranger programs. Even saw the Milky Way at night!

This is one of our favorite camps. The bathrooms and campsites are well kept, the views are gorgeous, and the camp hosts were so kind.
We also enjoy the rangers giving their informational presentations at the little amphitheater for the kids.
Always a great experience! We will be praying for the water levels to rise again!
