An excellent place to stay, within easy striking distance of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison & Crested Butte.
Sitting on the edge of Blue Mesa, the pitches are clean, well separated & easy to access.
Stunning views of the night sky too!

We absolutely loved our weekend camping here! The sites were perfect, check in/check out was seamless(we even added an extra day while we were there and Hugh was so helpful), the bathrooms were well kept and the scenery was unreal.
My only complaint is I was under the impression you were right on the reservoir with access to the water. And while this is true there isn’t an actual beach(at least on loop b). There’s a massive cliff you would have to climb down to reach the water. We ended up driving a mile up the road to dry creek park for a water day. You can drive your car right onto a sandy beach and unload kayaks and paddle boards so easily.
Awesome place to camp will be back!

The hosts were great! Clean bathrooms with flush toilets. I was disappointed that the shower house was shut down, but the dump station was open and free.

Park hosts top notch. Helpful, personable, and dedicated.
Camp sites redumentary, but functional.
Campers: be ready for noise, rude people all around your camp, and an urban experience. Noisy kids, loud music, partying, drinking and loud dogs all at the same time.
I think I was most disturbed by the many number of prairie dogs around the camp. These critters are known carriers of ticks, fleas, and bubonic plauge. Why are the prairie dogs being tolerated in a campground full of people? I understand wildlife has a place in every campground. These critters will spread the pests/diseases to your pets, and eventually to you.

Well maintained campground, spacious level sites, conveniently located restrooms. Plenty of room to accommodate RV, boat and vehicles. Park staff and camp hosts very friendly. Important note: there are no showers or water hookups in Elk Creek campground. Fresh water available to fill holding tanks at the dump station.

Great site, a little confusing to find but once we found it, the view was amazing. Bathrooms were clean.
