For the most part our two-week stay was great. The hosts are wonderful, helpful and, very friendly. Our only one complaint was the cleanliness of the restrooms in loop D. The two young fellows responsible we're absolutely hopeless. Their idea of cleaning the bathroom was to push a broom around for 15 seconds and leave. I will name names Noah and Cody. I spoke with their supervisor Bill, and he was aware of their nonexistent work ethic. Bill was kind enough to clean our restroom for us, and he did a fine job.

The chipmunks are very anoying, they jump up on the benches and tables, constantly being a nuisance.
I seen the prarie dogs are in the electric sites, and heard they will be moving to tent sites.
Something needs to be done to control these rodents, it is not sanitary for families to camp here!
It is a real problem!

Wonderful place to camp. Only complaint was that we came in in the dark and could not see the sign for our loop - it was set back from the road far enough that our lights did not shine on it. Had to circle around and ask the host. If the sign could be put closer to the main road it would be helpful for folks coming in the dark.

Nice spacious campground with flushies, picnic tables at each campsite. Separate tent area vs. RV's. Be prepared to make your own shade, and or private area as this campground is wide open, perhaps three or four sites with shady Ash trees. Relatively quiet and the views are awesome. Close to water, although the reservoir is seriously low. Rangers give evening talks of local interest.

Always a good stay at Elk Creek Campground. Sorry that the state reservoirs are so low - drought happens. But that doesn't detract from the beauty of the area.

Just fantastic park and location. Host was helpful and very accommodating. The creek running alongside was beautiful and close to Silverton. Water is on site but not for your hose if an RV. Be prepared. Handlebars Restaurant & Saloon is a must. Chicken Fried steak outstanding. Great place. Also, lots of roads for jeeping. Just down the road from the campground was a jeep road (you can rent in town) was the Clear Creek road. Unbelievable views driving up and the lake is true clear alpine lake. Take fishing gear or just sit for an hour or so in this pristine lake. Well worth it

The bathrooms are the cleanest of the campgrounds we’ve used this year.
The tent sites could be leveled a bit but ours was workable.

This was my first car camping experience and it was wonderful. This spot was shady, close to restrooms and had a view of the water.

- All watercraft must be inspected for invasive species before launching.
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
