An okay campground for tent camping. It was a good reset stop for us as they have plumbing, water, and showers however, I would not want to spend more than a night here as the walk in sights are next to the road, have little privacy from the other sights, and you can hear the generators. The hosts were very nice. I would recommend this campground more for RV camping.

The first night was great, saturday night people were loud and it was a bite crazy. But we were told we had to shut down our generator. But it was ok for camp fires and loud people. If quite time is quite time it should have been for them as well.

Loved that the spot was not far from parking. Appreciated the picnic table!

The campground was clean overall, and if a visitor is staying in a motor home or an RV I would highly recommend it as there are impeccable views of the Gunnison River and the night sky. The reason I am giving it such a low rating is not because of the physical aspects of the campground, but the management of the area. As it is a docking site, many boats were docked away from designated areas. This created an issue as many people were parking their boats on grasses and shores close to their campsites, which is not allowed and created an issue for those wanted to use the shores for other recreational purposes. The dry tent sites were very compact and close to one another, and I was a mere few feet away from other campers in their designated areas. In my camping experience at Lake Fork, there were two rowdy groups on each side of my designated camping area who were up partying until late at night. I had gone up to both parties and asked them to be quiet at a reasonable hour, and was surprised by the lack of an enforced quiet hour policy at the campground, especially when the designated camping areas were so close together. Both groups were incredibly rude even after I asked them to be considerate after midnight, which turned my camping trip very sour and led to a poor night of sleep for both me and my partner. If you have a quiet, insulated space or do not mind that kind of atmosphere, then this campground is for you. But if you were looking for a tranquil night under the stars or a place to rest after a long day of driving/hiking/exploring, I would not recommend it for this reason. This was our reason for selecting this site, as it was marketed as a tranquil place to get some rest or camp, but this was unfortunately not the case.

It would be so helpful to have the showers open at the campgrounds again. This was a service that my family always took advantage of and were happy to contribute the fee to use the showers.
