What Guests Are Saying

Lottis Creek Campground is praised for its excellent location, cleanliness, and outstanding camp hosts who provide exceptional support and friendliness. The campground features well-maintained facilities, including the cleanest pit toilets, and offers beautiful scenery with good fishing and hiking opportunities. However, guests have expressed concerns about deep potholes in the roads and issues with the dump station water supply that need attention from management.

The campground and facilities are well maintained and clean. The campground hosts were courteous and friendly! They also quickly addressed any campers that were being too loud. Very nice campground!

We’ve camped at Lottis Creek numerous times over the years, and have always had a very enjoyable stay. The sites are well maintained, quiet, the restrooms are clean and fresh, and the campground hosts are friendly. One negative - we were unpleasantly surprised to find the firewood bundles for sale went up from $7 last year to $10 this year, almost a 50% increase - but the bags of wood still are wrapped in wrappers marked $7, with no reason given by the host for the change. With the pine beetle infestation, they don’t want to have people bring their own firewood in, so I’ll bring my own propane firebowl next time.

We have stayed in over 100 state and national park campgrounds. Lottis Creek is one of the top 5. It is immaculate, the setting is beautiful and there are lots of things to do and places to go. We didn't see any bears this trip, though. The only thing they could do to improve it is to put in a dump station. That is a serious deficiency for us because our sewer tanks are small and that limits how long we can stay.
Oh, yes, $10 per bundle for firewood is much too expensive!

Lottis Creek is a wonderful campground for getting away to the wilderness but it is close to other activities such as fishing, hiking, and ATV trails. We visited Crested Butte for the first time and it's a very old town with many shops, restaurants and historic buildings to see. We camp in the smaller loop Park Cone which only has 10 spots primarily primitive camping. Across the creek is the larger campground with 3 loops and electric hook ups. We did get limited Verizon LTE signal on cell phone and hotspot; but it was sporadic and decreased on the weekends when more were in the campgrounds. Our camp hosts were awesome. The pit toilets were clean and well maintained. The night sky is awesome with stars. Camping is much better during the week when the larger loops didn't have has many campers.
