About Stevens Creek Campground

Stevens Creek Campground lies on the north shore at the eastern end of Blue Mesa Reservoir. This is the closest campground to the town of Gunnison, CO. Popular with boaters, Stevens Creek has easy access to the reservoir. It is very sunny and bright, and the scent of sagebrush adds to the camping experience. A bit downstream is the Morrow Point Reservoir and the Crystal Reservoir, both surrounded by the steep cliffs of the Black Canyon.

Great campground beside the lake. Very windy during the afternoon, but it calms down during the evening. Bathrooms were clean and sites were spacious. I got there on a Saturday afternoon and there were plenty of sites to pick from.

We were in campsite A02 and it was wonderful. We have always enjoyed camping at Stevens Creek and find the campground to be in excellent condition. The hosts Mo and Cliff are wonderful and are available to answer any questions we have. They keep up with what is going on at Blue Mesa and keep the campground in excellent condition. They are truly an asset to the campground and to the park service. We appreciate all they contribute to the National Park Service.

Lovely small campsite along the Blue Mesa resevoir. Camp hosts Cliff & Mo were great with lots of suggestions for things to do in the area. After being evacuated from Black Canyon fire we ended up at Steven's Creek. Stayed 2 days.

Can’t say enough about Steven’s creek campground! The experience is fun and hosts are amazing and super kind! The kiddos always have a blast exploring, riding bikes, taking a dip in the water and fishing! Place is well kept and bathrooms are clean!

Campground was great. We've stayed multiple times over the past few years and like stopping there overnight. However, we despise the change in fees and method of paying...we are older people and don't do QR codes. Took a bunch of our time to figure out how to pay...and what happened to the discount for senior pass holders!? We will be looking for an alternative to staying at this or any recreation.gov campground next time we travel.

Great place to be wish I could stay longer than 2 weeks considering how empty the campground always is. Close enough for fishing. And if ya need anything Gunnison is just around the bend 10 miles away.
