The campsites are generous in size. There just needs to be shade shelters around the picnic tables, as there is absolutely no shade anywhere on the campground. Also, there are showers available at a nearby campground (Lake Fork), but they were not available for use. The visitor's center (at Elk Creek) appears brand new. Why didn't they install showers there instead of large meeting rooms?
Otherwise, it was a decent experience. Just be prepared to either drive into town to a nearby community center to purchase a shower.

Tom is the Camphost and is wonderful! He is very friendly and always helpful. He is continuously cleaning the sites and walking around to make sure everything is alright with campers. We have stayed here several days and will definitely be back. Beautiful views of the Blue Mesa lake!

Tom the host was incredible. He made sure all areas were clean and came by to let you know the various activities that were going on, where they were and how to get to them. There was no internet. However, the host gave daily weather and fishing updates. There is a top of the line fish cleaning machine on site. It is absolutely beautiful. Just 15 minutes from town.

Campground seems overgrown. I realize you're trying to encourage natural vegetation, but it appears unkempt.

We really enjoyed the camp site, the only thing that we did not enjoy was we had Red Ants at our campsite. We left with alot of bites.

Nice place to spend a day or 2. Was thinking expecting the water level to be higher.

This specific campsite has very little tent space. Most of the campsite is asphalt and intended to be an RV campsite.

Well there is only two other campers here now. That’s nice but the sign Toxic Algae Bloom is kinda scary. Don’t tough that water but wash off your fish. Uh don’t worry I won’t do that! I imagine at a different time of year it’s probably been full of water so boats can go out from the boat ramp but now it’s a small creek. It’s ok for a quick stop.
