My friends and I came up for a camping trip right before we all left for college and had the most fantastic time. Our campsite was amazing, the bathrooms were clean and Nyla (I hope I’m spelling it right) the person helping run the place was incredible. She was super sweet and made sure we were all set up. If you’re looking for a good place to camp I highly recommend!

We had a group and we stayed at site 10 and 11.

The camp ground was well kept, though by Saturday night the bathrooms could have used some more attention. Lots of the camping spots are pretty slopped. Site 11 we couldn’t even figure out where to put a tent as it was so slanted, but site 10 had some good spaces for the tents. Site 11 had a lot of shade. Site 10 had just a little shade and we were thankful for 2 canopy’s to help with shade. Overall it was a nice place. Nice hiking trail down to the river.

We were in site 14 which was beautiful. The bathrooms were super clean. However the second evening we were there we had a bear walk up within about 50 feet of us at our site. It did not seem afraid of us which made us nervous. The kids were too scared to stay in the tent again and we left early.

This campground was very quiet, Very clean and in great condition when we visited. The Host had done an excellent job of keeping all campsites cleaned after a big holiday weekend. We were there mid week and we were one of three campers not counting the host. There is a short hiking trail to take to see some nice views of the area and to also get to the South Platte river. The campground is also close to a canyon drive with some spectacular views and sport fishing.
