Originally we reserved site #9 and once we got there realized we could not pull our pop up in that spot. So #9 and #10 are close and best for tents. The host was very nice and let us move where we wanted. We ended in #16 which was great for our trailer and private. Bathrooms were very clean and close. Nice quiet spot and we had a great time while we were there, even hanging in town for lunch one day.

Our stay at Blue Mountain was our first at a National Forest Service campground. Overall, the stay turned out to be a very positive one - but it had a bumpy start. Booking online with absolutely NO photos of the actual sites was disappointing at minimum. We wanted to be sure both our 22-ft travel trailer and truck would fit. We stayed July 2019 and there are still no photos of the sites. Be aware, many rec.gov campground sites/pages that do have photos use the same photo for all sites - not representative of the site you're actually booking. We picked a site that was listed as "pull-thru", but on arrival saw it was actually "pull over" to the side of the road with the table and fire ring up a small hill (about 30 ft). Camp hosts were gone on their day off. After calling the website reservations line to get our options, we decided to stay the first night (of a 3-nt stay) since it was late afternoon. It was also around July 4th holiday so we knew other campgrounds or boondocking spots would likely be filled anyway. Ultimately, we are very glad we stayed. Blue Mountain is small, the spots have some decent space around them, and it's on a circle with nice woods in the middle. Hiking trail head right in the campground. We met some new friends and enjoyed spending time with them. Other campers were respectful of quiet hours. Even though we wouldn't choose that particular space again (#19), we took the time to scout the other sites and found another space we would reserve in the future without hesitation.
