What Guests Are Saying
Happy Meadows is a charming and well-maintained campground on the South Platte River, praised for its friendly camp host, Paul, who provides excellent service and local recommendations. Guests appreciate the clean facilities, including immaculate bathrooms, and the serene atmosphere perfect for fishing and tubing. Though some noted traffic noise from the nearby road and occasional mosquitoes, the overall experience is highly positive, making it a favored yearly destination for many.

Well operated, easy to reach (though the washboard road was a shaking experience for my 24 foot RV), generally quiet (though we were there when weather changed and there were more generator sounds that I remember before).
Camp hosts were great people, the sites were super clean and spacious, so rare to have a river side site these days without mobs. The campground is a good size so not crazy busy and I've been lucky not to be there with any ATV bombers around so that offers a great opportunity to enjoy the local rocks, animals, and birds.... and the jumping trout!

As a fly fisherman, Happy Meadows is an excellent location. The Platte River flows behind the campsite #2. I could just put on my waders and step in the river. Unfortunately there are only 7 campsites so reservations are hard to come by. The Host were very nice and friendly. The only drawback were the running generators. I wish the damn generators were outlawed. Len

We really enjoyed our stay beside the river! There was only 1 other camper there (other than the host) so it was very peaceful. We were able to stay an extra day but the weather changed and we had to leave while it was snowing! But the scenes were beautiful covered in fresh snow.

It was very well maintained by camp host. Beautiful area right next to river. Excellent area for fly fishing and also for river floating (if the River is low).
