Spillway Campground offers a beautiful location near the river with unique rock features and spacious sites, making it ideal for relaxation and exploration. Camp hosts are consistently praised for their friendliness and professionalism, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment. However, some campers noted issues with the lack of on-site potable water and reservation mix-ups, which could be improved.

We had a great experience, but just a warning on site 2. It is TINY and unless you have a small 2 person tent there is not a level area where you can set your tent. Its also about 20 yards uphill to get to your site so don’t bring anything heavy unless you’re quite strong. The camp host was wonderful. The bathrooms were very clean and did not smell even though it was very hot when we were there.... mid-90s! Another note, it’s catch and release only until you’re 2 mi from the dam.

Nice campground at end of road. Scenic. Pit toilets are standard. Most tent areas level but be careful on hill sites. Water pumped from ground available. All sites seem to have level picnic tables and good fire rings with grill you can fold over fire. Lots of fly fishermen. We were in 20. Nice site by river. River view blocked by bushes but you can hear water.

We got no sleep the first night because of the group in the site next to us. They were so loud, singing and yelling for hours. There were way more then 8 people and 2 cars at the nextdoor campsite.

Best campsite is #24! Surrounded by trees and bushes, private. You can hear the river.
Only thing is that the site had not been cleaned when I got there. The fire ring was still full of ash piled and old, half burned wood. Few cigarette butts. It's a little close to the bathroom which is good if you need to make a late night run.

Beautiful canyon, it was quite windy but canyons can be like that. Lots of fish but hard to catch!

The site was very well set up and clean. The camp hosts were super friendly and helpful. Rain, wind, and mountain storms happen often in the canyon, so prepare for that! Make sure to keep food in secure containers (a lot of chipmunks around haha) Spillway has a great overlook hiking trail that starts right in the campground (its a must do! Beautiful views of the canyon and 11 mi reservoir) I would highly recommend staying at this campground if you are looking for a fun weekend of fishing!
