Nice smallish campground. Tent sites are much nicer and shady. The RV sites are not shady at all. While the weather is hot plan on enjoying the beautiful cool creek. Bring tubes for floating! We saw people panning for gold and gemstones. Trails are very nice.

This is a great campground, so close to the Front Range and I almost hate to share such positive feedback for fear of alerting the crowds! It's small enough to not feel too busy even when full and, though trailers are welcome, the lack of electric hookups made for relatively few trailers and nothing big - mostly tent campers. This area of Colorado on a whole can get dry, dusty and hot on particularly hot summer days, but the campground does have a little tree cover around and the creek running right through camp is cool and pleasant. There's some decent trout in there too, if you can catch them!

Great location next to Tarryall River for families. Some car camping sites and some walk in sites. Bring your fishing gear if that's your thing! Hosts were very nice. Firewood for sale there. Basic camping bathrooms were kept clean.

Spruce Grove is particularly beautiful if you get a creek side or walk up site other than site #3. The creek, the aspen grove, and the boulders provided a fantastic playground for both kids and adults. There were plenty of wild flowers and wildlife as well. I would definitely go back.
I only gave 4/5 stars because the site (#3) we were in had no shade and the bathrooms, though very clean, had a smell that wafted through our site regularly.
