We've been to Baby Doe 4 summers in a row! I LOVE it there. The hosts are always really helpful and run a great campground. The most recent hosts for 2020 and 2021, Roy & Sarah, have been THE BEST! They stop in to see if we need anything or want more info on the area + they keep the bathrooms (vault toilets) so clean!!! We always go into Leadville to get pizza and ice cream and the campground toilets are always way cleaner than the restaurant toilets. Seriously.
The lake is always amazing with stellar views of the mountains and then the stars at night. It's my happy place!

Very clean facilities. Lake was beautiful with easy walk to get to lake. Close enough I was able to easily carry my paddle boards.

Utilities
- Water will not be available at the campground in 2026; please bring your own.
- There are no hookups available at this campground.
Vehicles & parking
- Each campsite reservation includes two vehicles; additional vehicles incur a fee of $11.00 per night.
- OHVs, ATVs, and dirt bikes are prohibited in the campground.
Site capacity
- A maximum of 8 people can occupy one campsite.
- Each site can accommodate a maximum of 2 tents or 1 RV and 2 tents.
Pets
- All dogs must be leashed at all times, including service and therapy dogs.
Safety & rules
- Generators cannot be operated after designated hours.
- The use of firearms and fireworks is prohibited.
- Caution is advised when traveling to this high elevation facility.
Wildlife & food storage
- Do not leave food unattended at your site; it should be locked inside your vehicle or RV to avoid attracting bears.
