What Guests Are Saying
Silver Dollar Campground offers a beautiful and well-maintained setting with spacious, shaded sites and easy access to hiking and the lake, making it a great choice for outdoor enthusiasts. Camp hosts are generally friendly and maintain clean facilities, enhancing the overall experience. However, some guests reported issues with site suitability for larger rigs and negative interactions with certain camp hosts, which slightly detracted from their stay.

Great campground. Big sites, private & very friendly & helpful camp host. A quick walk to the lake!

The campground is very clean, and the campsites are pretty well spread out. Access to the lake is a big plus as well. Only drawback we experienced was the noise. A group next to us was excessively loud for most of the day and into the night. Even as they sun fell and it was pitch dark out, the kids in the group were running and screaming up and down the street and shining flashlights in people’s campsites. I couldn’t believe that their parents weren’t objecting to their behavior at all. There was also what sounded like a street race in the middle of the night that kept waking us up. Silver dollar is expensive for a campground, so I was a bit disappointed with the noise issues.

Our stay was in the second loop with the higher numbers and the campsites were spaced out very nicely. The restrooms were also very clean. The lake access was easy to get to and not too far from the site.

Campground has well maintained, very large sites, no concerns at all. Campground hosts came by a couple times, both were friendly and helpful.

Beautiful park and large campsites. Very wooded, which is nice here in Colorado. The park was clean and the other campers were respectful of the quiet time. The camp host, David was very nice and informative. Turquoise Lake is big, and a great place to fish , paddle board or just laze away the day floating around in a kayak. Many hiking trails and great biking. The outer road around the lake makes for a tough bike ride, especially at altitude.

This campground had easy access to the Lake via a trail right next to our campsite. The toilets were clean and well maintained (although one of them smelled terrible). Our problem with this visit was the number of really loud generators. Although they did observe the quiet times, some folks have old, noisy generators and run them for long periods of time during the day. It would be great to have a max decibel level for these things.

We enjoyed our stay at Silver Dollar Campground. The site was clean and spaced apart form others. The camp host was helpful. It is not far from the lake. I would definitely visit again.

This is a nice campsite outside of Leadville, CO. There was not access to Turquoise lake directly from the site but a five minute drive got us to a nice spot to fish and swim. There are paths through the trees in addition to the driveway that goes through the whole camp, so my daughter and I were able to go on a short walk after the afternoon rain stopped. Leadville is quaint with plenty of shops and cafes.

We had a great trip, very few trailers/generators (thank God), but the camp host wasn’t very engaged. Bathrooms were cleaned, but we had zero interaction with them. In past years, they greeted us with maps, day use passes, rules and regs etc, and literally none of that happened this time.

This is the least taken care of campground I’ve been to in the area. Besides from the bathrooms never once cleaned the campsite has never been cleaned either.
