What Guests Are Saying
Silver Dollar Campground offers a beautiful and well-maintained setting with spacious, shaded sites and easy access to hiking and the lake, making it a great choice for outdoor enthusiasts. Camp hosts are generally friendly and maintain clean facilities, enhancing the overall experience. However, some guests reported issues with site suitability for larger rigs and negative interactions with certain camp hosts, which slightly detracted from their stay.

Our camphost, Trudy, was so welcoming and helpful. Despite the rain all weekend, the campground was clean and friendly. I know there are water issues at Turquoise Lake right now- the pit toilets were pretty bad. They were cleaned and pumped out and Trudy was checking them constantly, but we had pretty strong fumes all weekend. Not being able to fill our rigs with water or having a dump station available as we have in the past was a challenge, but Trudy did direct us to facilities to help us out.

Campsites on the inside of the car loop didn't have much privacy. Restrooms were very clean.

Silver dollar is located in an area with lots of standing water, so there were a ton of mosquitoes. No views, no breeze, and no easy access to the lake for water activities. The campgrounds near the lake are much nicer.

Camp host was very friendly and helped us get our bearings around the campsite and lake. The campsites had plenty of room for larger tents, and equipped with a fire ring and a grill. Campsites on the south side (1,2,3) are close to still water. This made for a lot of mosquitos at dawn. After applying bug spray it was not bad.

The campground is kept very clean so the campground host and crew are doing a great job. Just wish a campsite didn't cost so much. $28 per night for some ground to sleep on seems more than it should be in my opinion.

Camp host was very friendly! Bathrooms were exceptionally clean. There was a trash can in the bathrooms-yes!!! Good sites with lots of shade. The mosquitoes were a bit heavy so bring spray or plan on wearing long sleeves and pants. Lots of good fishing by Boustead Tunnel.

Turquoise Lake needs signage. It can be very confusing and you can waste a lot of time getting to your campground.

Family-friendly, quick lake access to lake, fun beginner mtn bike loop from campground (~1 mi: Turquoise Lake Nature Trail). Roomy sites with mature trees. Watch out for mosquitos and unattended smoky campfire remains (camp hosts were unconcerned).

hiking , biking and fishing available. Restrooms are clean and easy to get to. firewood is not handy to get to so (unless you want to
pay for it) bring your own and make sure it isn't over the regulated length.
