What Guests Are Saying
Silver Dollar Campground offers a beautiful and well-maintained setting with spacious, shaded sites and easy access to hiking and the lake, making it a great choice for outdoor enthusiasts. Camp hosts are generally friendly and maintain clean facilities, enhancing the overall experience. However, some guests reported issues with site suitability for larger rigs and negative interactions with certain camp hosts, which slightly detracted from their stay.

This is a great campground in large part due to the hostess, Trudy!! Even though she is only one person (most hosts are a man & woman combo), the campground and bathrooms are pristine. She is diplomatic while enforcing the rules so everyone enjoys their experience. There are many campground choices, but we look forward to staying at the Silver Dollar because of Trudy!

A spur of the moment end of season camping trip was wonderful. Very few people about as there was snow on the ground from the previous week. The campsite was clean and amenities good. Turquoise lake is stunning, we will be back next year for sure.

Trudy the campground host was very attentive to the needs of the people camping at Silver Dollar. Restrooms were very clean and firewood for sale was plentiful.

Leadville is such a beautiful area. The sites at Silver Dollar were well-spaced. Ours was a bit tricky to back into, but tons of space once we were set up, it was great

Very accommodating host, easy walk to the lake. Family friendly with quiet time hours. Cleanest bathrooms I’ve ever seen at state parks!

We really enjoyed this spot. It was within walking distance (5 minutes) to Turquoise Lake. It would have been nice to have lake views, but it was nice to be out of the wind. We've stayed at other sites around the lake and it can get really windy right near the lake. We loved our spot. The sites were spacious and even though the campground was full, we never felt crowded. The grounds were well kept and the host was super nice. Vaults were very clean. We were thrown a bit of a curve ball because the water was unavailable due to a repair that was needed, but we just packed in extra water. We would stay here again.
