What Guests Are Saying
Silver Dollar Campground offers a beautiful and well-maintained setting with spacious, shaded sites and easy access to hiking and the lake, making it a great choice for outdoor enthusiasts. Camp hosts are generally friendly and maintain clean facilities, enhancing the overall experience. However, some guests reported issues with site suitability for larger rigs and negative interactions with certain camp hosts, which slightly detracted from their stay.

The driveway in the site is listed as 30 feet. This is most untrue. It is 20 feet at best. We had to leave our boat at the ramp parking area overnight as there was not enough room to fit it and the truck together. There are two grills. One elevated with a griddle which could be useful, though we did not. The other is smaller than we are used to and the grill, while the height is adjustable, it is unable to be rotated out of the way as with many other sites. The vault toilet was very clean and the boat inspectors were very nice.

This site is well-shaded and flat. It took some manuevering to get a pop-up with a car, but it's doable. The toilets are easy walking distance and extremely clean. There's a beach by the docks which is walking distance from the campsite. The cost of parking at the dock is included in the fee for the campsite. That's not overly clear and the guard didn't explain that, but some other campers did. There are a lot of mountain biking trails, and beautiful hiking trails very close by. If you're a golfer, there's a golf course a short driving distance, and at the bottom of Mount Massive. We enjoyed our stay.

staff was very helpful otherwise I would have given it lower marks, Bathrooms were by far the stickiest the best was Arapaho basin followed by Belle of Colorado then Molly brown and a long way back on bathrooms was silver dollar plus it is the worse location but there is nothing they can do about that unless you're a mountain bike rider then the location is fine, .25 mile walk to the lake one way.

The view and campground were absolutely beautiful.
I would have rated 5 starts but my group and I got harassed and discriminated against by an older woman and man who stay near the boat ramp/extra parking lot by the lake.
We brought my street legal and plated Honda grom and when turning around by the lake, the woman came up to us very angrily yelling that we cannot have that by the lake at 8pm and that it's illegal. While trying to explain to her that the motorcycle was street legal, she said that the campground was for people who pay to stay there. I informed her that it's rude to assume we didn't pay, as we paid for 5 campsites in silver dollar. The older man arrived shortly after and immediately got in my face (i'm a woman who is 5'1) and put his hands in my face yelling that he was going to evict us all from our campsites. I tried to get a clear understanding, but they were being super unprofessional, they would not give me their names even though they said they work for the district, and they could not show me any signs that showed we were not allowed to have a motorcycle there. They became hostile until they realized my friend and i were both recording them on our cell phones. After that they said to just go on our way, but they showed up at our campsite later to harass us more. Once i told them I was going to report them, they finally left us alone.

Got site 41 by driving in and finding it open (was not listed on website). Beautiful site, lots of trees, felt spacious and private. Quite a walk to the bathroom but otherwise ideal for what I was looking for.

Beautiful campground in the forest, not far from the boat ramp and water access. Large spots, nice large, cement picnic tables and metal fire rings. Great place to escape the summer heat in the mountains!

Clean campground. Private sites with lots of space and trees between them. Two men/women vault toilets on the loop, so one is still available while the other is cleaned. Lots of firewood available for sale for $10 a bundle—just put the cash in a slot. Short walk to lake with beautiful views. Water is very cold, but paddleboarding after the wind slowed down around 6pm was gorgeous! Our second time meeting friends here, and I’d do it again.
