Great campground and campsite, all sites decently spread out but be aware most of the sites inside the one way road are angled like a diagonal pull in not back in, getting trailer backed in was not easy.

Great campground that’s about a 10 minute walk to the lake but we didn’t mind since we were protected from the strong winds. Very shaded and peaceful.

Campground was very nice, lots of shade and most sites were pretty roomy and not right on top of each other. You could hike to the lake easily, but a very short drive if hauling paddle boards or something. Close to Leadville if you want to pop into town and also giving good cell coverage.

The camp host was less than desirable so I will leave it at that. Was yelling at people on a utv that was lost and she didn't help them to where to go ride. In my years of camping I have NEVER experienced a host like that.

Well kept and clean campground. Great location and sites are well laid out. Just sad to see so many sites reserved but vacant.

Great site. Lots of room between the other sites and a bit off the road which is a plus. Was able to fit a 6 person tent down fine despite claims it was hilly.

Getting There
From Leadville, Colorado, drive west on County Road 4 and follow signs to the Turquoise Lake Recreation Area. Turn right on County Road 9C and follow to the campground entrance on the right.

General
- Water will NOT be available in this campground in 2026. Please bring enough water for your needs, including water to fully extinguish your campfire. Also, the RV Dump Stations at both Printer Boy & White Star Campgrounds will remain closed this season.
- Maximum of 8 people are permitted to occupy 1 site.
- 3 tent maximum per site, or 1 RV and 2 tents.
- Nightly fee includes parking for 2 vehicles. $11.00 nightly fee for a 3rd vehicle. An RV or Boat/ATV trailer is counted as 1 vehicle.
- Dogs, including service and therapy dogs, must be leashed at all times.
- Generators may not be operated after; CPAP machines and other medical equipment are not exempt.
- Be bear aware. Do not leave any food unattended at your site. Lock inside your vehicle or RV.
- OHVs, ATVs, and dirt bikes are not permitted to operate in any campground
- Firearms and fireworks are not permitted
- No hookups available
- This is a high elevation facility; please use caution when traveling from lower elevations
- Don't Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing organisms by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit dontmovefirewood.org.
