My favorite site.#43. Big site with lots of tees and nobody on one side of you. Quiet and peaceful. Close to the walking/bike trail.

Our family had a wonderful experience at Silver Dollar Campground. We went Sun-Tues and it was very quiet. The lake was less than a 10 min walk down the trail. We saw a beautiful sunset and enjoyed paddle boarding off one of the many small beach areas. There is a lot of tall pine in this campground. Ground areas for tents had lots of roots so bring a good sleeping pad. Camp host was super friendly and kept the restrooms very clean. Overall an enjoyable experience and we would go back.

The pictures do not adequately depict this site. This whole loop of Silver Dollar is whacky. The sites are not level and many of the sites are facing the wrong direction if you're trying to back in a trailer. The positives are that it is close to the boat ramp and the sites are far enough apart that you don't feel like you're on top of your neighbor. The trees are tall and mature, which is nice, unless you're using solar to charge your batteries.

The campsite was remarkably quiet given that it was full for the weekend. There were a few mosquitos at this site, but nothing too bad (I was expecting worse based on past reviews). I was surprised to have reception at the campsite (AT&T towers).

The Campsite was clean and well maintained. The Bathrooms were clean and stocked with TP. Camp host was pleasant to deal with. No complaints at all.

This is a really nice campsite. Many sites are very close to the lakeshore. The camp host was very nice. I appreciate all the hard work the host puts into keeping the bathrooms clean.

Fire pits have not been cleaned ever. That permits high fire danger. Would not go back no water hosts were not very nice

One way road impossible to get into camp site you have to go the wrong way, the sites were full of rocks and tree roots not very flat no dumb station you have to go into leadville to dump another 20 dollars not good

Getting There
From Leadville, Colorado, drive west on County Road 4 and follow signs to the Turquoise Lake Recreation Area. Turn right on County Road 9C and follow to the campground entrance on the right.

General
- Water will NOT be available in this campground in 2026. Please bring enough water for your needs, including water to fully extinguish your campfire. Also, the RV Dump Stations at both Printer Boy & White Star Campgrounds will remain closed this season.
- Maximum of 8 people are permitted to occupy 1 site.
- 3 tent maximum per site, or 1 RV and 2 tents.
- Nightly fee includes parking for 2 vehicles. $11.00 nightly fee for a 3rd vehicle. An RV or Boat/ATV trailer is counted as 1 vehicle.
- Dogs, including service and therapy dogs, must be leashed at all times.
- Generators may not be operated after; CPAP machines and other medical equipment are not exempt.
- Be bear aware. Do not leave any food unattended at your site. Lock inside your vehicle or RV.
- OHVs, ATVs, and dirt bikes are not permitted to operate in any campground
- Firearms and fireworks are not permitted
- No hookups available
- This is a high elevation facility; please use caution when traveling from lower elevations
- Don't Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing organisms by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit dontmovefirewood.org.
