What Guests Are Saying
Silver Dollar Campground offers a beautiful and well-maintained setting with spacious, shaded sites and easy access to hiking and the lake, making it a great choice for outdoor enthusiasts. Camp hosts are generally friendly and maintain clean facilities, enhancing the overall experience. However, some guests reported issues with site suitability for larger rigs and negative interactions with certain camp hosts, which slightly detracted from their stay.

Overall we enjoyed our experience. We were disappointed with the number of reserved sites that were unoccupied. It’s so hard to get reservations. It’s difficult to see how many people save spots and then don’t use them.

It was a beautiful location. We are introducing our grandkids to mountain biking and there is a wonderful beginner trail around the campground. The toilets were also very clean.

Nice wooded campsites, not far from the lake. Helpful camp host.

Our camping site was lovely only too many mosquitos in the evening. The bathrooms were kept very clean, except for the time my husband wanted to use it and it was locked. Was someone inside? Or was the floor drying? A short walk to the lake then along the lakeshore was a highlight. Beautiful!
The ashes were never cleaned out of the fiepits as I have experienced in other campgrounds.

Campground is well maintained, but no water available this year. Trailers trigger an additional vehicle pass PER DAY, so be aware.

I do not recommend spot 29 for trailers. The angle of the driveway on the one way road required us to back-up 300 feet to get into it. Several other spots in loop b were the same. Bathroom was clean. Camp host was pleasant. So many mosquitoes in mid-July. A lot of ponds throughout the campsite. Quiet. I could not find the trailhead to get to the lake.

Campground is protected by trees from windy days found at the reservoir beach.

The description for Silver Dollar #16 said that it would accommodate a 30 foot trailer. However, the driveway is very short and best for tent camping, and it is often muddy at the base. It is inclined and would be difficult for a short tent trailer. Thankfully, the camphost found us a another site that would accept our 23 ft. hardside trailer. The camphost was great.
