Very nice campground, unfortunately the entrance road is under construction right now, which makes it hard for bicyclists to ride. The rim drive (starting from the visitor center) is otherwise perfect for a bicycle ride early in the morning or before sunset.

It’s very nice to be in the park (2
nights). We were able to take advantage of late night ranger talks and expert led star gazing with telescopes because we were in the park. The sites are tight for those with trailers (‘22 Airstream) but we made it work without any issue. Would do it again for sure.

I didn‘t know, that there is only a small amount of water available for drinking.
So it‘s definitely challenging to cook, clean your dishes and take care of your personal hygiene.

It was the first time that our group visited the park. You may want to put aside a full day for the amazing. scenic view road. Many stops but it is very intelligently located each stop. Understanding the shortage of the water at the park, you may want to bring more water with you before entering the park.
Do not miss the ranger programs, very entertaining.

Nice basic campground. The electric hook up in our campsite did not work correctly. The 30 amp plug was not wired correct. We were able to use the 20 amp plug and got by for the two days we were there. The Black Canyon of the Gunnison was very cool!

Spent 3 nights at the campground, amazing views and the hike to the river on the Gunnison route is well worth the effort.

The campground is absolutely beautiful. The campsites are private, and the restrooms are easily accessible.

When it is very warm and you are there for a 4 day stay and there is no water tap near ones campsite it is a bit trying. Construction and the closeness of campsites to the busy road detracted from the experience.
