What Guests Are Saying
Matterhorn Campground offers a beautiful setting with friendly and accommodating hosts, making it a popular choice for campers. The facilities, including clean showers and restrooms, received high praise, contributing to an enjoyable stay. While some sites may lack privacy and there were minor issues with outside visitors, the overall experience is highly recommended for its location near Telluride and access to outdoor activities.

Wonderful place although a bit sites are bit close to each other. Our next door neighbors insisted on bright lights and talking for 6 straight hours towards midnight. Had to report the inconsiderate dudes. But, what a place.... enjoyed my times with college aged kids. Hiked everywhere including around this campsite.

site 20 is up a slope and isn't super wide so we weren't very comfortable in that spot with a 28 ft trailer. camp ground is pretty but chlorinator was broken so no water in the entire site during our visit which was a bummer.

Full hookup site was easy to get into with a 20" trailer. Everything was located in a perfect spot. Firepits have tall walls so they don't send much heat towards campers but the height is great for cooking! Host and managers were very friendly and helpful with all our questions. Would definitely visit again!

After driving all day it is so wonderful to have a reservation and takes so much pressure off of me knowing that i have somewhere to sleep. This campground was gorgeous and quiet and close to hikes and paddleboarding. i think it's more like 10 miles from the roundabout than 7 and i think the directions said 7.

We were hoping to camp (somewhat) close to Telluride, this was a great spot. 20 minutes from downtown and 10 minutes from mountain village. We were able to reserve a campsite for one night (spot 21, it's awesome - set up a little higher on the outside of the loop, backing up to the mountain behind) and then got a first-come-first-serve spot (spot 8 - such a beautiful, tucked away site next to the river, although you can hear the busy road) the next few nights. Camp Host was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

Campsite was a bit small but backed up to forest, which was nice. Showers are free. Be aware that if you share campsite with another family, both families will be charged full price. This was not posted on the website and the bathroom bulletin board suggested that second family should be charged 50% if they have only vehicle and tent. Conflicting info. But FYI. Otherwise it is a decent campground near trout lake and very near galloping goose trailhead for hiking/mountain biking.

The campground was clean, the host friendly, nice campers and the views spectacular. A great experience overall. We’ll be going back.

Outstanding stay. The camp hosts are amazing and kept everything running smoothly. Bathrooms were clean. Couldn't have been better.

We love this campground. It’s one of our favorites. We were sad to be there for almost a week and never met the host. We finally met the area supervisor (at the entrance) to ask about where we can find a dump station. His response was “Telluride”. No specifics. We had to push for details and felt we were imposing on his time. We have always had a great experience and we were so disappointed in the staff this time around. The campground is still a favorite, but if you are heading there soon, don’t expect to much help if you need it.
